Good Enough to Eat?

Today I really wanted to use my Lil Inkers Stitched Bow, but it was better at playing hide and seek than I was ;) Inspired by my blackboard Christmas wreath card created here, I though I'd have a go at creating a kraft and teal version and use my Lil Inkers Stitched Circles to create a shaped card to play along with The Paper Players Shaped Card Challenge and Friday Mash Up! Kraft & Gingham Challenge, but I think it ended up looking more like a Christmas doughnut - which is not necessarily a bad thing LOL!

In case you are wondering about the 8 for this weeks CASual Friday Create with 8 Challenge, I repeated Annabelle Stamps Holly Branch 8 times to create the wreath, and when the card is opened flat...

CAS-ually A-MUSEing Annabelle...

Second post for the day...
I couldn't resist trying this faux chalkboard & colour combo after seeing Marion's fabulous MUSE card this week, plus Holiday Cards His & Hers faux chalkboard Christmas cards - I think this card with a kraft background and no bow would make a fab His version :)

First up, on a sheet of Simple Stories Chalkboard paper, penciled a circle outline using the inside of a double-sided tape roll as a guideline for the wreath. Stamped Annabelle Stamps Holly Branch 8 times in Momento Luxe Wedding Dress to create the wreath outline (perfect for playing along with CASual Fridays Create with 8).  Sprinkled the still wet outline with Rangers Seafoam White embossing powder and heat set. Stamped Annabelle Stamps Holly Branch sentiment and heat embossed. Stamped Annabelle Stamps Holly Branch 8 times onto Simple Stories 25 Days of Christmas paper, and heat embossed, before fussy cutting the holly leaves and adhering using a glue pen - keeping one edge of the largest leaf curled up for added dimension. Diecut MFT Christmas Wreath bow and added Kaiserkraft red rhinestone gems for holly.

This made me smile...                                this too...

It's All White (Almost)...

Just Keeping It Simple today, all white! A super quick Christmas card (can't believe it's only 10 weeks away - EEK!) featuring Cuttlebug Swiss Dots embossing folder (haven't reached for this in a while!), Memory Box Landscape die and Annabelle Stamps sentiment in embossed Gold Mirror.  Playing along with Shopping Our Stash Embossing Times 2 Challenge (hot and dry).

Dashing to Annabelle's...

8 Minutes and 43 seconds later...

Had fun stamping with these fabulous flowers from Annabelle's stamps for the 10 Minute Craft Dash. I think these stamps would look fabulous dressing up wrapping paper too! Stamped with Hero Arts Pale Tomato and Navy, paired with Distress Ink Shabby Shutters.  Twine is The Twinery Strawberry and Honeydew, paired with some white twine from my pantry :)

10 Minute Tips
  • Placing the stamps two up on the front of a clear block helps cut the time down - then to speed things up even more, I placed the flower centres two up on the reverse of the block - so they stamped perfectly in place as well!
  • Instead of a bow I taped down the straight line of twine, adhered to the back of the cardstock, then wrapped a second set of twine around three fingers, and a third set was used to knot the two sets together.

Spot the Birthday...

You'll be spotting this sketch all over the web this week based on Summer Camp homework - I've already used it once or twice!  When I was die-cutting the letters from the flag, the masking tape pulled off some of my spots, so I had to adjust my design to cover it up - next time I won't use spotted masking tape LOL!  I have used this Happy Birthday sentiment combo here, and loved it so much I thought I'd try it again.  The papers are Echo Park Spots & Stripes, the alphabet die-cuts are My Favorite Things, and the stamp is from Heidi Swapp.

Playing along with Moxie Fab Birthday Challenge
as well as linking up for the Summer Camp Week 1 homework of course!

Annabelle's Idol...

Time to make a birthday card for my nephew, or should I say one of my nine nephews!  So I thought I'd take the opportunity to join in Paper Crafts 2013 Gallery Idol too as the theme first up is Birthday Cards for Kids / Teens.  I've been wanting to ink up this little guy from Annabelle Stamps for ages, so I'm playing along with this fortnights Annabelle Stamps Sketch Challenge too.

The background was created using Distress Inks Spiced Marmalade and Wild Honey, oversprayed with Glimmermist Gold.  I paper-pieced my friendly Annabelle Stamps Lil Monster using cardstock and My Mind's Eye papers, hand drew the balloon end and string, added some Studio Calico flair for my cute little balloon, stamped the Annabelle Stamps sentiment, then ran the bottom two-thirds of my cardstock with a Lifestyle Craft Chevron embossing folder and added some MME Enamel Dots, before I pop dotted my cardstock layer, and the Lil Monsters eyes!

Remember - there is a FAB Clearance Sale over at Annabelle Stamps if you hurry, and you have until Monday night to link up to three cards in 2013 Gallery Idol Birthday Cards for Kids / Teens.

Festive Friday with Annabelle's Stamps...

The picture I had in my head when I started this card, and the picture you see here are poles apart - South and North Poles apart actually LOL!

Thought I'd get a head start making my Christmas cards, inspired by this weeks sketch at Annabelle Stamps,  and this fortnights inaugural Festive Friday Colour Challenge.  These cute Christmas stamps are from Annabelle Stamps, Santa's Star and sentiment stamped in Red Tinsel and heat embossed is from Whoo Loves Christmas.  Had fun with polka dot papers and star embossing, together with this fab silver tinsel paper and cute little cotton ball from Pebbles.
