You Can Always Count on Me...

9 minutes and 12 seconds later...
Following the theme of The Pink Elephants #215 Numbers Challenge, here's a post full of them!!!

My card for today features... you guessed it - NUMBERS!  For the 10 Minute Craft Dash #25, this card was based on Clean & Simple Sketch #256, it took 9 minutes and 12 seconds to diecut six Dienamics numbers (this was my first attempt, I cut a second sheet as the one went a bit wobbly on this one, but then mucked up the stamping, so came back to this one LOL!), stamp two Hero Arts background numbers stamps in Stampin' Up Daffodil Delight (see previous explanation ;)) and one Simon Says Stamp "You can always count on me" sentiment in Hero Arts Cup 'O Joe, cut and adhere two pieces of Fancy Pants Child's Play patterned papers, with 4 strips of double-sided tape and 7 pieces of foam pop tape.  I realised after I had pop-dotted that in my rush I had forgotten to round the corners - I think it gives it a more polished finish, but cest la vie!  I LOVE this 10 Minute Craft Dash colour combo, so hope to revisit it later this week using Lawn Fawn stamps ;)

All this talk of numbers brings me to this FABULOUS Month in Numbers idea from Julie Kirk...

How did I get here?  Well may you ask!  And who am I not to answer?

Whilst skimming the internet for some inspiration for the first FUSION challenge for September, I discovered this fabulous blog post on Five Ideas for Scrapbooking with Pages from Old Books, which had in turn been sourced from Julie Kirk's blogspot Notesonpaper.

Intrigued with her Month in Numbers post, I thought wow, I've moved interstate since I started school - I wonder how many kilometres it is between where I first started school and where I am now.  And then it dawned on me, although I did most of my schooling in Australia, I actually first started school in Belmont Massachusetts (and yes I did have to look up to see how that was spelled correctly LOL!), we moved to the USA from Australia as my Dad was offered a position at M.I.T., and we stayed there for almost two years, til just before my baby brother was born. Co-incidentally I have lived in Belmont in Australia too (but that's a whole other story!)

So from Massachusetts to Melbourne is 17014.421 km and I'd have to say - you've come a long way baby!!!

I Wish...

... I remembered to wash the ink off my hands before I folded this card - oops!

Inspired by the background fade to black and pop of turquoise and gorgeous pattern on the tea cups from this months Jay Gee Nook's Challenge.  It took a few attempts to get the stamping just right for the One Layer Less is More with a Flourish Challenge.  Stamps are a Paper Craft Alphabet with Vines, a miscellaneous dragonfly from my stash and Autumn Leaves Elegant Flourish, stamped in Momento Ink Black and Stampin' Up Tempting Turquoise.  I'd have to say I think I need more practice to perfect this technique, and as I keep reminding my kids...
...Don't forget to wash your hands! LOL

Retro Less is More...

A more CAS interpretation of this weeks versatile Retro Sketch all in Red, White & Blue for Less is More.  Stripes are Stampin' Up with My Favourite Things die-cut stars in Basic Grey PB&J, sentiment stamped in Stampin' Up Not Quite Navy using The Alley Ways Jibber Jabber, Chatterbox and Christmas Magic.

If someone believes in you, amazing things can happen -
if that someone is YOU, then the impossible just may become possible :)

Cat as Trophy or Catastrophe...

Just thought I'd have a bit of pun with this weeks Feathered Friends Challenge at CAS-ual Fridays, together with this gorgeous colour combo from Color Throwdown, and Sketchbook Saturday Challenge.  These cute stamps are Paper Smooches Chubby Chums and Party Posse with the  Alphadots sentiment stamped in Stampin Up Tangerine Tango and Melon Mambo.  The birdcage and branch are My Favourite Things, securely tied together with Twinery twine.  Sophistocats collar is blinged with Kaisercraft too - after all a girl always has to look her best lol!

Skipping Stones Colour Q ...

Second post of the day.  Hope you are enjoying your Mother's Day :)

This card is inspired by this weeks Colour Q challenge of lovely clear autumn hues, and this fun Skipping Stones sketch. The sentiment from Skipping Stones Butterfly Kisses in stamped in Always Artichoke, and the pear from Stampin' Up Faith in Nature is stamped in Pear Pizzaz, Daffodil Delight and Tangerine Tango, then glossed using Dimensional Magic.  The gorgeous wide ribbon from Ribbon Carousel matches the Tangerine Tango (believe it or not lol!), and the paper is Cosmo Cricket Baby Jane.

A CAS-ual Play Date, More or Less...

This card is inspired by these funky colours from Play Date Cafe, this versatile sketch from Less is More and CAS-ual Fridays April Showers bring May Flowers.  I just love the gorgeous stems and flowers in this weeks Play Date Cafe Challenge, and I couldn't wait to use my Memory Box Chloe Stem die-cut.  The white flower is actually reverse die cut from the Prima Doodle Deux paper - and the fiddly bits stuck back in place - I love the extra depth and texture it creates.  Other papers were from My Mind's Eye On the Bright Side - One, and Basic Grey Wisteria.  The gorgeous sentiment stamp is from Verve Always on My Mind, in Stampin' Up Elegant Eggplant.  Lots of pop-dotting of the white frame and die-cut flowers too.

A big HELLO and thank you to all my followers - wish you were here :)

This made me smile too

Tell you why I DO like Mondays :)

Who couldn't love Mondays with these three great challenges!  Todays inspiration comes from these funky colours at Colour Q, this great sketch from Mojo Monday, and this weeks Ribbon Challenge at There She Goes.  And if that wasn't enough, TGS has a fantastic sale on this week, with proceeds going to the Make a Wish Foundation!

LOVE, love, love this funky colour combo, and I have been itching to try these gorgeous puppy stamps and sentiments from There She Goes.  In case you can't read it, the sentiment reads "A friend is one of the nicest things you can have, and one of the nicest things you can be".  The puppies are coloured using black, red and pumpkin Marvy Markers - I added some spots to the smaller dog and gave them matching pumpkin-coloured noses and red collars.  I paper pieced the grass and die cut and pop-dotted the heart shape from My Favourite Things.  The papers are a mix from Kaisercraft and SEI, but would work fantastically using Stampin' Up papers too.  This gorgeous ribbon and cute paw-print brad are from my stash.  I knotted an extra piece of ribbon around my the flat piece across the page - it's much easier to end up with the words where you want them using this method!

I hope you are having a glorious weekend too - and looking forward to Monday :)

This made me smile too!

Over the Mooon...

Inspired by this gorgeous palette from Color Throwdown, I have made another bib-shaped card, perfect for a baby announcement or congratulations.  Had fun paper pieceing my cow based on an October Afternoon stamp, with the legs repositioned to make it look more like it is actually jumping over the moon.  Clouds are from Paper Smooches Whimsy, and sentiment created from Paper Smooches Alphadots, stamped in Stampin' Up Chocolate Chip.  I created the moon shape by punching a circle then punching a "bite" out of the circle to create the crescent shape - much the same way I created the basic bib pattern too :)

Hope your day brings you something to be over the moon about too :)

Over the moon about being a Favourite Pick too
