Fusion Falling Flowers...

Inspired by the gorgeous combo of flowers and teacup in this fortnights FUSION inspiration photo. Wanted to play along with the fabulous Coffee Loving Cardmakers Fall Card Hop, so kept the card colours in Autumn tones. Created by combining My Minds Eye "Notable" patterned papers together with this cute Prima "Coffee Break" Journaling notecard, and double diecut Mama Elephants "Cup of Wishes" in burnt orange then pop dotted the top floral layer.

Finnabair @ Artified - All About Textures...

Lucky enough to have the opportunity to play at Artified studio with the amazingly talented (and very funny!) Finnabair yesterday.

This class was all about texture using primarily products from the Prima Finnabair ranges, including a fabulous array of metal flowers, gears, clock pieces, bottletops and buttons, combined with stencils, texture paste, black gesso and some of the amazing new Mica and Mica Magic Powders, a paintbrush, cardboard, lace, and hardware, plus a few bits and pieces from my stash...

Playing along with Mixed Media Monthly Texture
(although I'm not sure if it needs to be a card which would count this out!).

Discovering... FUSION

Time to discover... this fortnights FUSION!

I thought this may be my last FUSION contribution on the Design Team, but after having a massive clean out of my crafting space, I am feeling totally re-inspired! Combined this fabulously versatile FUSION sketch and gorgeous photo inspiration, rotated the sketch 90 degrees anti-clockwise and used this beautiful over-sized butterfly as the star element. Had a blast getting inky with a range of Distress Inks in Squeezed Lemon, Scattered Straw, Wild Honey, Spiced Marmalade and Picked Raspberry, together with this gorgeous Prima Cherry Blossom mask. Butterfly coloured using Mr Heuy's spray mist in Heirloom Blue. This fabulous over-sized butterfly stamp and sentiment are by Tim Holtz.

Hello FUSION

Inspired by the colours and textures of this fortnight's FUSION, together with the gorgeous scripty background and of course the fabulous FUSION sketch! Combining two layers of yellow flowers and a couple of white fabric leaves from my stash with a silver tulle flower as the centre to create the flower. The Prima butterfly was stamped onto vellum using Momento Ink, then coloured on the back using yellow gelatos and fussy cut. The Heidi Swapp wood veneer "hello" sentiment is pop dotted against the MME scripty striped paper and dark grey background. The edges are also inked in Brushed Corduroy Distress Ink.

Layers of die cut patterned papers really bring this card to life, especially paired with these gorgeous Prima flowers for this months Mixed Media Card Challenge Flowers theme. Papers and sentiment die cut are all from Kaisercraft, paired with Simon Says Stamp leaves and My Favorite Things butterfly diecuts. The butterfly is pop dotted for added dimension.

Seize the Little Tangles...

It's been such a long time since I played with my Neat & Tangled stamps, I couldn't leave it a minute longer! Playing along with the current Little Tangles Stencil Challenge and Seize the Sketch, I oversprayed this Heidi Swapp Mini Stencil Hello Frame with Prima Color Bloom Peony Spray Mist, then stamped this cute Neat & Tangled Just Hello phone and masked the Little Tangles squiggly lines in Hero Arts Charcoal, to create the phone cord, and added a couple of sequins.

This made me smile...

Anything Goes with Hugs...

Had so much fun playing with stencils while I was away! Headed down the path of Freestyle Collage mixing and matching the layers and media. This was created using a Prima Cherry Blossom stencil and some Distressed Inks sponged over a sheet from an old Fairy Tale book covered in Gesso.  The cute 'Hugs' sentiment is a Simon Says Stamp, and the wood veneer butterflies are Studio Calico, with a matching button found lurking in my stash.

Happy New FUSION...

FABULOUS New Year to one & all, with a new team and new day for the FUSION Challenge!! This fortnight I thought I'd get a head start on scrapbooking for 2014, perhaps I'll make some headway with the 30,000 or so photos I have LOL!

Inspired by the colours, shapes, layers and textures of the FUSION inspiration photo. Combining Scenic Route chipboard words, Jillybean corrugated alphas, Cosmo Cricket, Scenic Route and Sassafras Lass papers, Martha Stewart decorative punches and a truckload of Prima flowers and butterflies.

We'd LOVE you to join in the fun...

How to play:
1. Play with just the sketch challenge.

3. Or you can create FUSION by combining BOTH challenges into one card.
4. Use the challenge graphic and link back to Fusion in your post.
5. Please read the other considerations on the Rules Page before playing along.

Mixed Media Ombre FUSION...

When I sat down to create this fortnights FUSION card, the card in my head incorporated an elephant stamped on book paper, then I discovered I had run out of white cardstock base - so on to Plan B - create a mixed media canvas of course!! What will your FUSION plan be?!? Will you be inspired by this fabulous sketch, or the fantastic elements in this cool photo, or will you create a FUSION of both?

I recently discovered a fabulous pad of gesso primed canvases from a local $2 shop, and used this as the base for my mixed media canvas. I created an ombre base by layering three different shades of pink Gelato, and blending with a baby wipe. Inspired by the overstamped text from the photo, I stamped Unity She Art Print Texture to create the text background, then overstamped with Prima Mixed Media Stamp by Julie Nutting, and Dylusions The Right Words sentiment strips. The Prima Mixed Media Stamp was stamped onto Kaisercraft and Echo Park patterned papers and fussy cut, before adhering in place over the stamped canvas, as were the sentiment strips.

All up from thinking about how I was going to get around running out of cardstock base to finished canvas took around 45 minutes - which is amazingly quick for me, especially considering this is the first mixed media canvas I have created. I would ideally have stamped the girl a little higher over the background text, but as it says:  "Being happy doesn't mean everything's perfect. It means you decide to see beyond the imperfections", and I'M HAPPY :)

Hope to see you at the FUSION Challenge Blog soon, in the meantime, here's some more FABULOUS inspiration from the Design Team...

PS You Make My Heart Melt...

Don't forget the Paper Smooches September Release Blog Hop begins TODAY!

I was inspired by the Paper Smooches Sparks Picture Perfect Challenge of frames to actually scrapbook a photo to be framed!

Love Paper Smooches stamps and dies on scrapbooking pages too.  I created this page with a combination of Warm Hearts trees & sentiment, Freezy Fellas and Swanky Snowdudes snowmen and Flag Tag dies cuts. Papers are Prima North Pole, with MFT snowflake diecuts and crinkle cut (corrugated) alpha from Jillibean Designs.

In case you are wondering this is my DS, although he's not quite so little anymore!!  I have a TONNE of photos for when the scrapping bug strikes again LOL!

World Card Making Week...

To celebrate World Card Making Day, Clean & Simple Stamping is having a special Sketch and/or Colour Challenge til October 19th, with prizes up for grabs too.  I created my card using Prima papers from Road Trip and So Cute Collections, with some added jute and three October Afternoon buttons - just enough to scrape into this weeks Little Red Wagon Buttons Bonanza Challenge.

There She Goes on a Mojo Throwdown...

Had so much fun getting messy with inks last week, thought I'd have another go!  Inspired by this gorgeous photo from There She Goes, this lovely pastel palette from Colour Throwdown, and fab Mojo Monday Sketch.  Papers are a combination of Prima Songbird Collection (fussy cut and pop-dotted), Echo Park This & That and MME Miss Caroline, My Favourite Things scalloped border and hearts die-cuts, love this birdhouse die-cut from Marianne Design and the gorgeous sentiment is There She Goes Day or Night. Got inky with Tim Holtz Distress Ink Vintage Photo and twine is The Twinery Buttercup.

We're off for a short change of scenery - have a GREAT weekend!

A CASE of Ribbon Carousel The Alley Way...

CASE Study Card

As soon as I saw this weeks gorgeous CASE Study card, I knew I had to make a "Bee all you can bee" card :)  The "B" is based on Basic Grey monogram letters, cut from Echo Park Country Drive paper, pop-dotted on Bella honeycomb impressioned cardstock.  I reverse stamped this cute bee from The Alley Way ei-ei-o, and the sentiment is comprised of "bee"tween, "a"re + sti"ll", "you", "con"gratulations (changing to the o to an a) all from The Alley Way Chatterbox and Jibber Jabber.  The bees trail is created from Divine Twine, and I added some pewter Kaisercraft Pearls to personalise the Prima Sun Kiss flower - not quite homemade, but at least home embellished, for the Ribbon Carousel Fancy Flowers Challenge.

Don't forget there's still time to apply for TAWS DT and Papercraft Gallery Idol 2012.
Best of Luck!

Check It ... A CASE of Dynamic Duos

Todays card was made for my Mum - definately a one-of-a-kind, and not always appreciated for it.  Had a chuckle to myself when I realised I was extolling the virtues of being an original, whilst CASEing a card - but hey it's an ORIGINAL copy lol!

Inspired by the layout of this weeks gorgeous CASE Study card, and the fabulous Dynamic Duo of So Saffron (yellow) and Pool Party (aqua), I thought I'd play along with the Gingham Challenge in the Moxie Fab World too.  The main stamp is from Prima, and this gorgeous sentiment is from My Favourite Things Clearly Sentimental About Art.  Gingham paper is from October Afternoon with some gorgeous grosgrain ribbon from American Crafts, My Favourite Things butterfly die-cut and EK Success scalloped border punch.

Hope you have a wonderful day today too :)
