Discovering... FUSION

Time to discover... this fortnights FUSION!

I thought this may be my last FUSION contribution on the Design Team, but after having a massive clean out of my crafting space, I am feeling totally re-inspired! Combined this fabulously versatile FUSION sketch and gorgeous photo inspiration, rotated the sketch 90 degrees anti-clockwise and used this beautiful over-sized butterfly as the star element. Had a blast getting inky with a range of Distress Inks in Squeezed Lemon, Scattered Straw, Wild Honey, Spiced Marmalade and Picked Raspberry, together with this gorgeous Prima Cherry Blossom mask. Butterfly coloured using Mr Heuy's spray mist in Heirloom Blue. This fabulous over-sized butterfly stamp and sentiment are by Tim Holtz.

Happy Mixed Media Card Collage...

I have had FUN playing along with the Mixed Media Card Challenge collages this month, I hope you have too! This weeks card was created using the bits and pieces in my crafting area left over from earlier creations, and literally creating a collage from them. Background She stamp from Unity, Ranuncular stamps by Stampendous, fussy cut from ombre paper by Echo Park. Winnie and Walter "Happy" diecut and Simon Says Stamp diecut butterfly.

Playing along with Addicted to CAS Butterfly too.

Happy Today with FUSION...

This fortnight I was inspired by both the FUSION sketch (in mirror reverse) and this gorgeous image, with its ombre colours and old book print. I created both the watercolour panel and the book paper panel by inking one side of Tim Holtz Faded Dots stencil using Distress Inks in Picked Raspberry, Wild Honey and Scattered Straw, then spritzing and pressing the mask into the paper panels. Then added three Prima butterflies (the top butterfly is actually pink, but it kept photographing as red!), and two Studio Calico wood veneer words to create this birthday card.

How will you be inspired by this fortnights FUSION - will you use this fabulous sketch, or pull inspiration from this gorgeous inspiration photo or BOTH?!?

How to join in the fun...
1. Play with just the sketch challenge.
2. Play with just the inspiration photo challenge.
3. Or you can create FUSION by combining BOTH challenges into one card.
4. Use the challenge graphic and link back to Fusion in your post.

Wanna Uniko Card Concept...

Playing with watercolours, this time using Distress Inks as the base, and these gorgeous Uniko Studio die cuts. Die cut the three Uniko Studio butterflies first, followed by the Uniko Studio flower and lastly the Fawn Stitched Journalling Card. My blue and green watercolour panels were also die cut, then this fabulous Uniko Studio sentiment stamped in white embossing powder on blue vellum.

Anything Goes with Hugs...

Had so much fun playing with stencils while I was away! Headed down the path of Freestyle Collage mixing and matching the layers and media. This was created using a Prima Cherry Blossom stencil and some Distressed Inks sponged over a sheet from an old Fairy Tale book covered in Gesso.  The cute 'Hugs' sentiment is a Simon Says Stamp, and the wood veneer butterflies are Studio Calico, with a matching button found lurking in my stash.

Precious Girl...

I can't believe that my first born will be a teenager soon!  I still remember when she was barely a few weeks old, and everyone was telling me "you soon forget how little they were", and I did not believe a word they said!  So I've created this flutterby birthday card for my precious girl

Inspired by this divine dress at Moxie Fab World Tuesday Trigger, this delicious colour palette at The Play Date Cafe - a perennial favourite as my girl was blessed with stunning red hair - and this gorgeous layout sketch from Clean&Simple, I dived in and had a play with my Glimmermists.  I created a negative die-cut template of butterflies using MFT die-cuts for the medium and smaller butterflies and a Spellbinders die-cut for the larger butterfly to mask the Black Cherry and Harvest Orange Glimmermist overspray.  I love how the Glimmermist seems to capture movement in the butterflies.  At the same time I placed a large die-cut butterfly in position on top of the template so it would match the spray pattern when placed back in position on the card.  The border cardstock was misted separately.  The sentiment on the front of the card with its gorgeous faux stitching is by Little Yellow Bicycle, and the stamped sentiment inside the card is one of my favourite, from My Favourite Things Clearly Sentimental about Emerson, with a small butterfly die-cut from the scraps.

I hope you have a beautiful day too :)

The Things that Dreams are Made of, Rosettes, Cardabilities and Pink Elephants too!

  Butterflies Challenge

This card was inspired by this stunning Rosette Colour Trends Challenge at Embellish Magazine, and drawn from this gorgeous Cardabilities Sketch, first time I've played along at both these sites, and I couldn't resist joining in at The Pink Elephants Butterflies Challenge too!

I created these gorgeous roses using My Favourite Things Mini Rolled Roses Die Cuts in hot pink felt.  I discovered that you can create larger roses by die-cutting an extra rose (or more if you need to!), and continuing to wrap it around the outside of the rose to create exactally the sized rose you want - so I was able to use two die cuts to make three different sized roses - perfect!  I was inspired by all the circular elements in the Rosette Colour Trends Challenge - so all the papers (from SEI and Making Memories) are spotted, and I have repeated the circular elements in the scalloping and the Kaisercraft pearl bling too. I created a double frame around my card to reflect the frame from the photo too.  The gorgeous butterfly die cut is from Spellbinders.  This beautiful sentiment is from Verve Always on My Mind, stamped in Versa Colour Opera Pink and Orchid.

Hope your dreams come true today too!

The Colour Room Case...

Inspired by this weeks Case Card with the gorgeous Karola Witczak as Muse and The Colour Room colour palette and sketch too, I revisited my origins... scrapbooking!!! I can't believe it has been over a year since I last scrapped, but I couldn't help but be inspired.  Still a little rusty - but amazingly I found the page came together much more quickly than it used to.  Too many products used here to mention them all LOL!  I do really like the journalling cards and butterflies from the Kaisercraft Bonjour Collection.

Many thanks for stopping by :)

Wishing you the Sweetest Things...

Even though purple is definitely not up there with my favourite colours, when I saw this months inspiration photo from Scrapbook Boutique, I knew it was perfect for my MFT "Wishing you the Sweetest Things" sentiment.  I loved the lattice icing, repeated in the papers from Kaisercraft and Penny Black, and the cute icing roses replicated using Prima flowers.  Cardstock is textured cordinations, finished off with a cute butterfly hand cut from Kaisercraft papers.  Perfectly suited to this months gorgeous inspiration sketch from SFYTT at I (heart) to Stamp.

Many thanks for dropping by - and Happy Chinese New Year to you too!
