Challenge Me A Christmas Card with Michelle Lupton...

So thrilled to join in this year with the fabulous Challenge me a Christmas Card with Michelle Lupton. My challenge was for her to create a card with Alcohol Inks and Die Cuts, although looking at some of her gorgeous recent posts I don't know how challenging it actually was lol. You can check out Michelle's gorgeous creation here.

As Yupo paper can be a tad on the expensive side, I created a themed set of 4 gift cards from one A5 sheet of Yupo paper. The Alcohol ink background was created by randomly dripping combination of Alcohol inks in a variety of shades of greens, mine include Pinata Rainforest Green, Arto Teal, Tim Holtz Limeade and Turquoise with a touch of Pinata Mantilla Black. While the ink was still wet I moved it around the A5 sheet of Yupo paper by tilting the paper in the direction I wanted the inks to run, and the Yupo paper was then blotted with a scrunched up sheet of A4 copy paper in a diagonal pattern. Once the inks were dry, the sheet of Yupo paper was cut in half. One half of the Yupo sheet was used to make the first two cards.

Onto the second half of the Yupo sheet I also added some Pinata Claro Extender, to reactivate the base layer of inks, together with Tim Holtz Pearl Mixative and Pinata Old Gold. This layer was also blotted with some scrunched up A4 copy paper to create the background of cards three and four.

The first three cards feature the Merry Christmas Holiday Frames photo frame die by Simon Says Stamp, paired with one of the Deer Trio by Simply Dies. The final card once again features one of the Deer Trio by Simply Dies, together with Memory Makers Countryside Circle, and Avery Elle Seasons Greetings sentiment. The American Crafts glitter paper in gold helps to add a little festive sparkle.

I hope you are inspired to challenge yourself and join in the fun of creating with Alcohol inks and die cuts!

Very Nice MFT Sketch...

Joining in the fun at My Favorite Things sketch this week and I thought I'd try my hand at colouring with Copics. Featuring MFTs BB Jingle All the Way stamps and sentiment, paired with diecut stars from Lil Inkers. Also playing along with the Muse Christmas Challenge incorporating Santa and his reindeer, and The Merry Christmas Challenge.

It's beginning to look a lot like...

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas Card Challenge time!

Both cards are created using Memory Box Country Scenery die cut paired with Winnie and Walter Peace sentiment.

Card 1 is a shaker card, complete with Winnie and Walter Snow Mask in texture paste background, with Snowflake and Moonbeam sequins.

Card 2 is diecut and coloured then the diecuts are inlaid flat in the diecut background a la Jennifer McGuire. Distress Oxides used were Faded Jeans, Black Soot and Squeezed Lemon, then added a star diecut from MFT Shining Stars in black cardstock already heat embossed in Hero Arts Gold.

FUSION Striped Wreath

Super fun FUSION this fortnight! As we do not traditionally celebrate Halloween here in Australia, I decided to create a Christmas card, (especially as it is only 10 weeks til Christmas - eek!). I combined the fabulously versatile FUSION sketch and the lime green and striped wreath inspiration, using Winnie and Walters Seasons Tweetings stamps and Heidi Swapp patterned papers. Pop dotted to emphasise the layers.

Fun @ Fusion...

Couldn't help but pull out this gorgeous Purple Onion Designs snowman to play along with the FUSION challenge this fortnight. Paired inspiration from this super cool sketch with the bright and fun inspiration from this gorgeous FUSION inspiration photo, along with the pop of orange!

Paper pieced the snowman, paired with silver die cut Lil Inkers Stitched Circle and Snowflake, together with this gorgeous Winnie & Walter die cut sentiment, paired with Neat & Tangled stamped sentiment and sparkle paper background.

Love to see how you are inspired by FUSION photo, sketch or both!
Hope you get a chance to play along!

Christmas JOY...

Inspired by the gorgeous MUSE Christmas Club reindeer, I found this left over sparkly reindeer diecut in my stash on the weekend (I think it is WPlus9), and paired it with the "Joy" and tag diecuts from Winnie and Walter, together with two impressions of Tim Holtz Vintage Snowflake embossing folder strip to make this very simple CAS Christmas card.

P.S. A CAS(E) of Merry Christmas...

So happy (and a little sad) to be able to join in the (second) last ever Paper Smooches Sparks Challenge

I must admit, Paper Smooches were the first ever stamps I won, and they will always hold a special place in my heart! Lucky for me (and YOU), challenges will be continuing over on the Paper Smooches blog!

A quick and cheerful Christmas card created using Paper Smooches dies. Diagonally cut a piece of Basic Grey paper from my stash, then negative die cut two Paper Smooches Poinesttia holly leaves, and used the positive pieces to create my second sprig of holly. Die cut Paper Smooches Christmas Words sentiment, together with a half dozen holly berries and assembled on an angle, inspired by this weeks fabulous CAS(E) this Sketch. Colours, diecuts and holly inspirations from this weeks Muse - Christmas Visions.
