Traditional Christmas FUSION.. with Glitter!

Can you believe it's almost Christmas!!!

I don't know about you, but I seem to be short on my Christmas card stash again this year! So I've decided to celebrate the last FUSION of 2015 with two Christmas variations on a theme.

The first card is inspired by this super versatile FUSION sketch, rotated 90 degrees to create a Christmas shaker card. Created this super glittery shaker card using silver and gold glitter paper, diecut with Lil Inkers Stitched Snowflakes and Stitched Oval shaker opening, together with Winnie and Walters Joy sentiment. Added a sheet of clear acetate to the cardstock piece to create the window. Finally some fabulous glittery star and circle sequins from Winnie and Walter, then created the walls of the shaker with double-sided foam tape and adhered to the cardstock card base.

Second card is a more traditional Christmas card, inspired by the theme and colours of the FUSION inspiration photo, together with the sketch. Created using the same die-cuts, with the addition of Memory Box Pine Branches, all cut from Kaisercraft and Basic Grey patterned papers.

As usual, you can play along with FUSION using either this gorgeous photo inspiration, or this fabulously versatile sketch, or a combination of both.

Finnabair @ Artified - All About Textures...

Lucky enough to have the opportunity to play at Artified studio with the amazingly talented (and very funny!) Finnabair yesterday.

This class was all about texture using primarily products from the Prima Finnabair ranges, including a fabulous array of metal flowers, gears, clock pieces, bottletops and buttons, combined with stencils, texture paste, black gesso and some of the amazing new Mica and Mica Magic Powders, a paintbrush, cardboard, lace, and hardware, plus a few bits and pieces from my stash...

(although I'm not sure if it needs to be a card which would count this out!).

Simon Says... Ombre Art Journal

Had a fabulous time away crafting for the long weekend!

Here's a peek at my very first Art Journal page, created using Gelatos and a brush over a layer of gesso for the background together with Donna Downey stencils with modelling paste for the flowers, and Unity stamps for the background text and Tim Holtz stamps for the sentiment, and butterfly, stamped over Twinkling H2O, and heat embossed.

P.S. For FUSION Fun this Fortnight...

Did you miss me... I missed you!!!

Not quite Back to School for us here in Australia, but Back to Spring!!!

Inspired by the fabulous bright colours and theme, together with this fortnights amazing sketch from FUSION, I created this teacher themed card using Paper Smooches Falling for You paper pieced apple and Giddy Bugs sentiment. Looks like a few of our Design Team had the same idea incorporating pencils into their cards this fortnight. I had such fun creating the "wood" in my pencils by punching a scalloped circle then creating a doughnut shape with a smaller circle cut from the centre of the scalloped circle. Then cutting wedge sections from the donut as the "wood" and trimming a strips of coloured paper to size as the coloured lead and painted sides of the pencils. Papers are a mix of Lawn Fawn Hello Sunshine, Prima Sunny Days and American Crafts Amy Tangerine Yes Please.

Dear Coffee, You're Kinda Hot...

I had fun playing with my Prima coffee cards, so I thought I'd create a variation on a theme. Still combining the fortnightly FUSION with the Summer Coffee Lovers Bloghop! This card uses the gorgeous FUSION sketch and coffee card from Prima, this Beau-TEA-ful Unity stamp as my coffee cup, with papers from MME and Echo Park Ombre (to play along with Virginia's View Ombre too!)

Time for Coffee & FUSION...

I thought I'd be a bit cheeky and combine my fortnightly FUSION with the Summer Coffee Lovers Bloghop! So this fortnights FUSION card uses the gorgeous sketch - complete with "accidental" coffee ring instead of a star (don't you just hate it when that happens LOL!), and coffee card from Prima, papers are a very summery Hello Friend by Glitz bokeh effect background paper, and Echo Park Ombre (to play along with Virginia's View Ombre too!)

Hello FUSION

Inspired by the colours and textures of this fortnight's FUSION, together with the gorgeous scripty background and of course the fabulous FUSION sketch! Combining two layers of yellow flowers and a couple of white fabric leaves from my stash with a silver tulle flower as the centre to create the flower. The Prima butterfly was stamped onto vellum using Momento Ink, then coloured on the back using yellow gelatos and fussy cut. The Heidi Swapp wood veneer "hello" sentiment is pop dotted against the MME scripty striped paper and dark grey background. The edges are also inked in Brushed Corduroy Distress Ink.

Mixed Media Card Challenge - BeYOUtiful

Layers of die cut patterned papers really bring this card to life, especially paired with these gorgeous Prima flowers for this months Mixed Media Card Challenge Flowers theme. Papers and sentiment die cut are all from Kaisercraft, paired with Simon Says Stamp leaves and My Favorite Things butterfly diecuts. The butterfly is pop dotted for added dimension.

There's some more fabulous Floral inspiration from the design team

Make it Monday with NPlane for NBUS...

The current Papertrey Ink Make it Monday Challenge highlights all the Make it Monday Challenges for 2014 and you can choose one you had perhaps missed. I'd love to say that because of the craziness that was the holiday season I missed the opportunity to partake in re-creating Laura Bassen's gorgeous Camoflaging Die Cuts Technique, but truth be told, I'm fairly new to the delights of Papertrey Ink, and only just realized they have weekly Challenges - slow, I know LOL! All the same, I couldn't miss the opportunity to give this technique a try!

In an effort to make more boys cards (seeing as there are 7 nephews on my side of the family alone LOL!) I thought I'd attempt a boys birthday card, featuring a Papertrey Ink plane (aka NBUS!)

Created by first making a cloud template mask by die cutting a piece of acetate, this can also be created using a variety of different sized circle dies. Using the cloud mask, started from the lowest layer of "cloud" and made my way up with Distress Ink Broken China and Tumbled Glass. When it came to doing the die cuts, the Papertrey Ink Birthday sentiment was fine, but the airplane is a single die incorporating three different elements, so die cut a Papertrey Ink plane from white cardstock and temporarily positioned it where I wanted it to appear on the card, then reused the acetate cloud mask to recreate the same cloud pattern on the white cardstock plane - this is where having the mask cut from clear acetate came in handy! Stamped the Papertrey Ink "Happy" sentiment in Distress Ink Broken China, and die cut additional white cardstock layers for the sentiment and plane, and sandwiched them together before adhering in place on the card. Highlighted the tops on the clouds with Wink of Stella Clear.
