Almost Dashed...

I thought I'd set myself a somewhat less ambitious card for this fortnights 10 Minute Craft Dash, so as the timer started I was much more relaxed - BIG mistake, as "Dash" and "Relax" are two words that should not share the same craft space LOL!

I had rather leisurely scored my cardstock base, and trimmed my checked Pink Paisley paper and kraft cardstock to size, adhered my checks to the cardstock base and nicely rounded the corners, fetched some washi tape to hold my MFT heart die and branch dies and WPlus9 bird die in place as I cut them, laid out my ready to be assembled card on the table then looked at my stopwatch in horror, just under three minutes to go!

I really pushed this one to the wire, as I umed and ahed about whether I had time to stamp my sentiment, and it did not stamp as crisply as I would have liked, I grabbed my brown marker and handwrote over "some" to try and rescue my stamping efforts - and JUST scrapped in at 9 minutes 58 seconds!  Next time I know not to relax til AFTER my card is created LOL.

FAB prize for this fortnights 10 Minute Craft Dash is:

Trigger Tuesday Moxie Gingham Splatter...

Inspired by this weeks delicious Tuesday Trigger Bright BitesGingham Challenge in Moxie Fab World and the Splatter Challenge in Moxie Fab World together with CAS-ual Fridays Punches Challenge.  Love the bright colours and circles from this weeks Tuesday Trigger inspiration photo, I punched circles of solid colour from my Basic Grey and Pink Paisley scraps, and the checks, waves and spots are all Lily Bee Designs Double Dutch - a fantastic resource for gingham addicts!  The splatter was created by flicking the tube of Glimmermist in Olive Green, Cherry Red and Harvest Orange. This gorgeous sentiment is from My Favourite Things.

I discovered a really neat trick while making this card - I usually get really frustrated when I design a layout for my card (or scrapbooking) and then have to attempt to move all the overlapping pieces to stick it down, I thought what I need is a big not-so-sticky sheet to adhere to the top of my layout which enables me to turn my pieces over all at once, to adhere it to my cardstock base, then peel off the sheet.  Apologies to those who already know this trick, but I realised the answer to my problem was staring me in the face - POST IT notes!  So I was able to stick my layout down, in the right place, in no time flat!!!

Hoppy to Announce Paper Smooches Sparks Freshly Made...

I LOVE this inspiration photo from Paper Smooches Sparks and have used it as part of my entry for the Paper Smooches Sparks DT (a girl can dream!!!)  The circular elements and strong lines fitted perfectly with this weeks Freshly Made Sketches.  From the inspiration photo I have used the hot pink spots and green floral patterns, the cute frog, from Paper Smooches A Little Lovin', and the home theme with the sentiment, also from Paper Smooches A little Lovin' - "Hoppy to Announce", inside I stamped the sentiment "...we've hopped to a new pad." using Paper Smooches Alphadots

Papers are from Echo Parks Dots and Stripes, and Pink Paisley 365 Degrees, die-cut using a scalloped circle from Spellbinders, with hot pink twine from the Twinery, and Magenta Ink from Versa Colour.
