Addicted to CAS and Geometric - August Guest Designer

So happy to be back Guest Designing with the fabulous
Addicted to CAS team this fortnight!
With the Addicted to CAS code word Geometric
I had so many ideas I ended up making two cards today!

Winnie and Walter Pennant triangle stamps are FABULOUS for this challenge!
The sun was created by stamping the pennant triangles in Dandelion and Morocco Momento Luxe inks, with a die cut circle as the centre, stamped with this very fitting Verve sentiment.

The second card uses this gorgeous geometric giraffe and crazy sentiment by Altenew, stamped in Versamark Watermark and heat embossed in Zing Pewter, and randomly filled with these three fabulous bright Color Throwdown colours. The triangle chunks were cut by snipping the card at a right-angles to the side, then cutting along the top half of the triangle, and flipping that cut piece over as a mirror reverse template, to make ensure the larger triangle ended up equilateral.

Remember to visit the Addicted to CAS Challenge blog for some more
gorgeous Geometric inspiration from the team!

Card 2, playing along with Color Throwdown,

Keep It Simple with Arrows...

Hooray! It's time for Keep It Simple and the first thing I thought of when I knew this fortnights' KIS inspiration of "arrows" was cupid! So I'm playing along using these gorgeous Mama Elephant cupid stamps and sentiments.

Created by die cutting the MFT heart shaped base, and stamping the Mama Elephant cupid and sentiment in Versamark Watermark ink and Zing Gold embossing powder. The red heart was created by die cutting a Verve heart diecut from a scrap of cardstock and using this as a mask, then filling the heart using a combination of Barn Door Distress Ink, and appropriately, Momento Luxe Love Letters. Whilst the Momento Luxe ink was still wet, I sprinkled a little of the Zing Gold embossing powder over the heart to add some gold cupid dust flecks.

Remember to visit Keep It Simple for some more fabulous DT inspiration.

Head Over Paws Sequin Shaker...

Can I tell you how much I'm LOVING Mama Elephant - and judging by how much they were "borrowed" when we went away, there are many new Mama Elephant fans too :)

Playing along with this months Mama Elephant Photo Inspiration Challenge, I drew my inspiration from the fabulous jars of potions, combining circles and glass/transparent elements to create a "love potion" sequin shaker. Just right for joining in the fabulous Pretty Pink Posh Sequin Shaker Blog Hop too. This super cute Mama Elephant Pandamonium panda tumbles "head over paws" when you roll the shaker card along the table.

Created using a die cut cardstock circle base, layered with two die cut craft foam donut circles glued together to form the sides of the shaker. I also cut two small semi circles of craft foam to fill the void behind the front layer of cardstock, just so the sequins would not all "disappear". The shaker is filled with a combination of red and gold sequins, including these gorgeous teddy bear sequins from my local $2 shop, together with some red and gold glass beads from my stash. The sequins shaker is sealed with a die cut circle of transparency sheet, topped with a cardstock donut circle. The front panel is created using circle die cuts and Mama Elephant Landscape Trio stitched cloud die, stamped with Mama Elephant Sketchy Letters, and hand written "over", highlighted with red Mama Elephant Pandamonium hearts.

Life is Beautiful, BE Inspired...

Side view of handbag card

It's BE Inspired time at The Alley Way Stamps, and I was inspired to create a handbag shaped and folded card.  I cut out this fun sun shape using Bo Bunny Country Garden Collection on the front body and top folding flap of my card.  I punched a second sun circle and stamped it with the gorgeous sentiment from The Alley Way Stamps Talk to Me, then pop-dotted it on the bottom half of the circle only so that the top flap of the card can be folded into the space between the two sun circle layers.

Why don't you head over to The Alley Ways Stamps to check out how the rest of the team were Inspired, and join in for your chance to win some FAB stamps!

Joining in the SUN /MOON challenge at Craftymess too

Perfect for the Shaping Up Blog Hop too!

It's Spring Baby...

Even though we are heading towards Winter here, north of the equator is heading towards Summer, hence we have a very Spring inspired baby card.  This card was inspired by the CAS-ual Fridays Hey Baby! Challenge, The Paper Players Spring has Sprung, and this gorgeous collage of Easter images from Jay Gees Nook Challenge.

I love these shaped bib cards - I first made one when my sons teacher was expecting her first baby.  I love that they are so easy to make - similar to a circle card, just not quite the full circle, then use a circle punch to create the neckline.  I have stitched around the edge of this card to add some texture - but as you can see I still have my "L" plates on when it comes to driving my sewing machine - but the more I practise the better I'll get at least that's what I tell my kids, so I better start practicing ;) These gorgeous stamps are from Paper Smooches Spring Fling, although the set has an egg-shaped stamp, I actually stamped the tulip to create the top and bottom of my cracked egg, and paper pieced them and the baby chick.  Papers are a combination from Echo Park Dots & Stripes, Grace Taylor and Sassafras. The sentiment is from Practicing Creativity Designs.

Hope you are enjoying Spring (or Autumn!) wherever you may be.

For Weddings and a Valentine's Day...

Loved this gorgeous colour palette from The Colour Room combined with sketch inspiration from Mojo Monday - this week we're looking through the round window!

Had fun making red felt roses using My Favorite Things Minature Rolled Roses - just need to remember to roll from the outside of the diecut to the inside - doesn't work quite as well in reverse ;) I also used the Lifestyle Craft Floral Rose and Swiss Dots embossing folders - the ribbon across the centre makes hiding the overlap in the embossing easy! I love this couple stamp - stamped once in black ink on white cardstock and a second time in white StazOn ink on black cardstock, then hand cut the suit and top hat and added the coloured bow-tie and matching flowers to tie the colour scheme together. I adhered two sheets from Making Memories notepaper together to create the scalloped edge. This is the first time I have made a round card - folded an A4 piece of cardstock in half and cut an almost complete circle using my Fiskars circle cutter - too easy!

Many thanks for dropping by - much appreciated :)

PS. Having some technical issues today so sorry for the multiple listings / missing links in Mojo Monday
