A KIS Goodbye...

Sadly it has come time for the Keep It Simple Challenge blog to close. I had a ball on the Design Team, but with a couple of teamies choosing to step down, Anni made the difficult decision to close. I may have considered taking up the reins, but my one year of high school German is not up to the task of a bi-lingual challenge!

Here is a card I had prepared in advance, which fits nicely into the Festive Friday Challenge, with its gorgeous red and white photo inspiration, as well as Catered Crop Seeing Red, and Virginia's View Clean and Simple Challenge.

I love this Santa and sentiment by Darkroom Door, which Cecilia brought to our weekend retreat, stamped and embossed in red tinsel.

Keep It Simple By 3...

As soon as I saw this fortnight's Keep It Simple "3" challenge, I knew I wanted to use this super cute trio of animals and notes by Tara Wakefield. Coloured in three colours, with heart patterned paper covering one third of the card, three corners rounded, and a three word sentiment by Simon Says Stamp (even two of the three words have three letters!).

Merry, Festive, Seasons Greetings, a KIS with No Stamps...

OK so, I realise I may be leaving it a little late to start on my Christmas cards this year, but isn't that what October and November are for LOL! Inspired by the pinks, silvers and sparkles over at Festive Friday and Merry Monday The Words Have it! Christmas Challenges, I whipped up this card using an A5 sized piece of Princess Pink metal sheet from Add a Little Dazzle, ran it through the cuttlebug with a Tim Holtz Christmas sentiments folder, dipped a cotton bud in acetone to remove the pink layer from the "Seasons Greetings" sentiment and reveal the silver underneath, added some American Crafts silver glitter sheet, and voila my first Christmas card of the year!
Reminder for Keep it Simple No Stamps, and FUSION Shiny Pink too!

P.S. A CAS(E) of Sugar & Spice & all things Patterned Paper...

Super inspired by this weeks CAS(E) this Sketch, and playing along with Paper Smooches Sparks Anything Goes and Virginia's View Patterned Paper. Created by using Paper Smooches die cut Fishtail Flags, Onesie and Hearts (for pegs), Each heart clothes peg was created by die-cutting 2 hearts and adhering the tops of the two hearts together, then "clipping" them over the onesie. Clothesline stamped with Paper Smooches Pip Squeaks and Little Lady sentiment. As always, I have stamped in brown (Momento Luxe Rich Cocoa) instead of black for my baby card.

I just realised that this is the first time I have used the Hearts and Onesie diecut, and the first inking of Pip Squeaks and Little Lady, so I'm joining in the fun @ the gorgeous Darnell's NBUS Challenge #2 too!

A-very Moxie Fab Clicking Cameras Challenge...

Today's card brings together the two trends that are currently shooting for the stars -
Cameras, and arrows LOL!

Playing along with Avery Elle's AEI{heart}U Kraft Challenge, together with
and a reminder that there is still time to join in the fun @ KIS Arrows.

Created using Amy Tangerine's Plus One Edition Project Life cards, together with Avery Elle #Smile and Oh Happy Day stamps. The Avery Elle #Smile camera icon is paper pieced and Oh Happy Day "Oh Shoot" sentiment stamped on some very old Basic Grey paper from my stash.

Hope you are having a fabulously krafty weekend too!

Keep It Simple with Arrows...

Hooray! It's time for Keep It Simple and the first thing I thought of when I knew this fortnights' KIS inspiration of "arrows" was cupid! So I'm playing along using these gorgeous Mama Elephant cupid stamps and sentiments.

Created by die cutting the MFT heart shaped base, and stamping the Mama Elephant cupid and sentiment in Versamark Watermark ink and Zing Gold embossing powder. The red heart was created by die cutting a Verve heart diecut from a scrap of cardstock and using this as a mask, then filling the heart using a combination of Barn Door Distress Ink, and appropriately, Momento Luxe Love Letters. Whilst the Momento Luxe ink was still wet, I sprinkled a little of the Zing Gold embossing powder over the heart to add some gold cupid dust flecks.

Keep It Simple with Stickers...

Time to play along with Keep It Simple Only Stickers Challenge! I have to admit, I did find this challenging, until I realised I have a truckload of gorgeous alphabet stickers, just waiting to be upcycled LOL! These American Crafts Topography letters were a perfect match to create this "I'm lost without you" sentiment.

My Word, A-very Happy Die-cut...

I broke out my Gelatos and watercolour brushes, together with my Avery Elle die cuts and stamps to play along with the current Moxie Fab World: Wonderful Words Challenge - Word Dies, along with a few other challenges, AEI{heart}U One Word ChallengeVirginia's View Die Cut ChallengeCurtain Call Inspiration Challenge 1st Anniversary Anything Goes, and Seize the Birthday With String Topping ;)

My first thoughts for this card were to repeat the "happy" across the watercolour stripes, but I couldn't resist incorporating the Avery Elle balloon die. I achieved the inlaid word die cut by first running the watercolour paper through my die cut machine, then using masking tape across the back of the watercolour paper, to keep the little pieces in place before carefully removing the watercolour "happy" and replacing with white cardstock "happy". I stamped the Avery Elle balloon string before I added the white cardstock "happy", then filled in the missing piece of string with a black Zig pen, so it looks as though the string is looped around the letters. I diecut and stamped the Avery Elle bow onto the balloon a couple of times, as the first few attempts I tried adding the string with the Zig pen around the end of the balloon to make it look more realistic - but decided in the end I preferred the bow floating by itself!

Don't forget, you still have time to Keep It Simple Take a Bow!

Keep It Simple and Take a Bow...

OK I have to admit, tying beautiful bows is definitely not my forte, so when this fortnights Keep It Simple card is "Take a Bow", what is a girl to do? I had to Keep It Simple of course - and created my beautiful bow by using three loops of ribbon, and two fancy cut end pieces, all cleverly adhered together - you won't tell on me will you?!? The gorgeous sentiment is from Kaisercraft, stamped in Momento Ink Rose Bud, which matched perfectly with this hot pink ribbon from my stash.
