The Paper Players on a CAS-ual Friday...
Loved the classic colours at The Paper Players this week... gorgeous navy teamed with white and silver, together with a very elegant sketch at CAS-ual Friday.
I used a sharp blade to cut around my angel outline (adapted from one I found on-line at Pink Paper Peppermints), leaving just a couple of millimetres gap for folding the image forward to make a 3D card. Pop dots for the white angel image to give added depth, and my favourite silver tinsel embossing powder with Hero Arts sentiment stamp.
Think I might try another version with textured embossed cardstock next... and here it is!
Hope you are enjoying your Thursday too :)

Thank whoo... TCR & Tuesday Morning Sketches
I just LOVE the colour palette this week at The Colour Room, coupled with this great sketch from Tuesday Morning Sketches. I created this cute Thank whoo... thank you card by combining punched cardstock and some great patterned paper by Rose Moka. Stamped my owl image using Snow white embossing powder & embossing pen for the text.
Thank whoo for stopping by - hope you enjoy your Monday too :)

Throwdown a Challenge... (or two)
Colours from this weeks Colour Throwdown Challenge reminded me of Pooh Bear, add to this the spots and dots challenge at Scrapbook Boutique - led to lots of circles here!
Couldn't wait to play with this little bear & robin set by Gillian Roberts, coloured in with Derwent Watercolour pencils and added text from My Favourite Things "Sending You a Little Christmas" set. Vanilla cardstock embossed using Couture Creations "Swiss Dots" embossing folder, and red and dark grey cardstock cut using Spellbinders "Lacy Circles". The paper I have used is an old line from Scenic Route, but a similar effect could be achieved by stamping.

Being a newbie to card making I'm still experimenting - LOTS! I find that I prefer to stamp my outlined images in Stone Grey StazOn ink - what do you use?

Taking the time...
When there is so much going on in life, it is really a privilege to be able to take the time to create a little something. So here is my little something for today:
As you can see, todays little something was inspired by the colours at The Paper Players, and the sketch at Mojo Monday.
Hope you can take the time to create a little something today too :)

Time for another Play Date...
DD and her friend and I had put a lot of effort into our stall at the school market, and it looked great. Fantastic weather meant there were great crowds outside - not so many ventured inside though, but we still made enough to cover costs - will be selling excess at another local school market and probably also on Etsy.
Had fun with this weeks colours at the Play Date Cafe... who doesn't love a splash of orange!!
Stamped the happy couple twice - once in black on white cardstock, and once in white on black cardstock, cut around the black cardstock to create the black suit, shoes & top hat, then added the bouquet of flowers to tie in the colours. Managed to tie the knot so it reads "tie the knot" too!
Hope you are enjoying your Monday!

Loving Light...
Had the opportunity to join Danielle Quarmby in her Loving Light photography session yesterday - great fun and a fantastic day weather-wise.
Discovered that going from Auto to Manual selection is harder than anticipated, and I really need to practice my focusing skills!!! Perhaps because I love capturing "moments" I find I need to be able to focus instantly rather than mucking around adjusting for the "perfect" photo - I just like to embrace the imperfection of life :)
These my favourites for the day. I don't have the time to play around with my images in photo editing software, so I have just added an auto adjust colour from microsoft editing software to enhance the colours of these.
Hope you are enjoying your Sunday :)

Time for a Play Date...
About 60 cards done so far - what can I say, I am a slow scrapper, and not surprisingly a slow card-maker too LOL.
Got some inspiration from this weeks Play Date Cafe colour palette #106 featuring pink, yellow & grey to create this card...
The card was first stamped, heat embossed and dry embossed before I added the cute Tim Holtz flower.
Wishing you a beautiful day too...
