Happy Mother's Day FUSION...

As we have Mother's Day coming up next weekend in our corner of the world, I thought I'd create a FUSION Mother's Day card this fortnight, inspired by the FUSION sketch and floral inspiration.

Patterned papers from Prima and American Crafts, super sentiment from Verve and stitched tag diecut is by Paper Smooches. I broke out my Tim Holtz Tiny Tattered Florals dies to create these gorgeous flowers. The set comes with its very own quilling tool - a fabulous little tool which proves invaluable in rolling these flowers after you have die cut them. These flowers were created using a sheet of stiffened fabric paper - which was all the rage about 10 years ago. If you don't have any handy, you can always use fabric stiffener/glue applied to any ribbon or fabric to create the same effect, or you could use cardstock or paper if you prefer!

This month at FUSION we are also lucky enough to be joined by special Guest Designer, Bonnie Sharp so make sure you stop by for some extra fabulous inspiration from Bonnie and the FUSION team!

I would LOVE if you could join in the fun @ FUSION too!

Mixed Media Card Challenge - BeYOUtiful

Layers of die cut patterned papers really bring this card to life, especially paired with these gorgeous Prima flowers for this months Mixed Media Card Challenge Flowers theme. Papers and sentiment die cut are all from Kaisercraft, paired with Simon Says Stamp leaves and My Favorite Things butterfly diecuts. The butterfly is pop dotted for added dimension.

There's some more fabulous Floral inspiration from the design team
over on the Mixed Media Card Challenge blog.
Can't wait to see what you create!
Just remember to link up your card before April 25th.

Love FUSION...

How will you be inspired this fortnight? When we went away, we were each lucky enough to receive a fabulous bag of goodies from the gorgeous Joy. As I was working on this FUSION Challenge, how could I not incorporate these stunning flowers onto my card? I paired them with these die cut rose leaves, Simon Says Stamp Hugs and Kisses, and Love sentiment, die cut twice and offset to create shadowed letters. Following the sketch, I inset the negative die cut Lil Inkers Stitched Oval with the flowers and petals, and used the hugs and kisses die cut as the ribbon strip.

How to join in the fun...
1. Play with just the sketch challenge.
2. Play with just the inspiration photo challenge.
3. Or you can create FUSION by combining BOTH challenges into one card.
4. Use the challenge graphic and link back to Fusion in your post.
5. Please read the other considerations on the Our Rules Page before playing along.

Here are some fabulous cards by our design team showing you how it works!

With Thanks...

Thanks... to everyone who follows & visits my blog, it makes the journey so much more rewarding :)

Todays card was inspired by Cardabilities Sketch #69, which I mirrored, and Color Combos Galore Challenge #231, with its gorgeous pallette of teals, pink & red with neutral, with a focus on photo #3, incorporating buttons, circles and magic mesh.  Seeing as I've incorporated a scalloped circle die-cut and a scalloped edge die-cut, I thought I'd join in the fun at Splitcoast Stampers Die Crazy Lovefest 2013 Challenge too. Papers are mostly Kaisercraft Fine & Sunny, with Faith the Chicken from Purple Onion Design, an assortment of Prima flowers and sentiment and buttons from my stash.  I think I'll call this style "Clean & Complex" LOL!

Hope you all have a wonderful day & a fabulous week!

A CAS-ual Play Date, More or Less...

This card is inspired by these funky colours from Play Date Cafe, this versatile sketch from Less is More and CAS-ual Fridays April Showers bring May Flowers.  I just love the gorgeous stems and flowers in this weeks Play Date Cafe Challenge, and I couldn't wait to use my Memory Box Chloe Stem die-cut.  The white flower is actually reverse die cut from the Prima Doodle Deux paper - and the fiddly bits stuck back in place - I love the extra depth and texture it creates.  Other papers were from My Mind's Eye On the Bright Side - One, and Basic Grey Wisteria.  The gorgeous sentiment stamp is from Verve Always on My Mind, in Stampin' Up Elegant Eggplant.  Lots of pop-dotting of the white frame and die-cut flowers too.

A big HELLO and thank you to all my followers - wish you were here :)

This made me smile too

The Things that Dreams are Made of, Rosettes, Cardabilities and Pink Elephants too!

  Butterflies Challenge

This card was inspired by this stunning Rosette Colour Trends Challenge at Embellish Magazine, and drawn from this gorgeous Cardabilities Sketch, first time I've played along at both these sites, and I couldn't resist joining in at The Pink Elephants Butterflies Challenge too!

I created these gorgeous roses using My Favourite Things Mini Rolled Roses Die Cuts in hot pink felt.  I discovered that you can create larger roses by die-cutting an extra rose (or more if you need to!), and continuing to wrap it around the outside of the rose to create exactally the sized rose you want - so I was able to use two die cuts to make three different sized roses - perfect!  I was inspired by all the circular elements in the Rosette Colour Trends Challenge - so all the papers (from SEI and Making Memories) are spotted, and I have repeated the circular elements in the scalloping and the Kaisercraft pearl bling too. I created a double frame around my card to reflect the frame from the photo too.  The gorgeous butterfly die cut is from Spellbinders.  This beautiful sentiment is from Verve Always on My Mind, stamped in Versa Colour Opera Pink and Orchid.

Hope your dreams come true today too!

The Colour Room Case...

Inspired by this weeks Case Card with the gorgeous Karola Witczak as Muse and The Colour Room colour palette and sketch too, I revisited my origins... scrapbooking!!! I can't believe it has been over a year since I last scrapped, but I couldn't help but be inspired.  Still a little rusty - but amazingly I found the page came together much more quickly than it used to.  Too many products used here to mention them all LOL!  I do really like the journalling cards and butterflies from the Kaisercraft Bonjour Collection.

Many thanks for stopping by :)

For Weddings and a Valentine's Day...

Loved this gorgeous colour palette from The Colour Room combined with sketch inspiration from Mojo Monday - this week we're looking through the round window!

Had fun making red felt roses using My Favorite Things Minature Rolled Roses - just need to remember to roll from the outside of the diecut to the inside - doesn't work quite as well in reverse ;) I also used the Lifestyle Craft Floral Rose and Swiss Dots embossing folders - the ribbon across the centre makes hiding the overlap in the embossing easy! I love this couple stamp - stamped once in black ink on white cardstock and a second time in white StazOn ink on black cardstock, then hand cut the suit and top hat and added the coloured bow-tie and matching flowers to tie the colour scheme together. I adhered two sheets from Making Memories notepaper together to create the scalloped edge. This is the first time I have made a round card - folded an A4 piece of cardstock in half and cut an almost complete circle using my Fiskars circle cutter - too easy!

Many thanks for dropping by - much appreciated :)

PS. Having some technical issues today so sorry for the multiple listings / missing links in Mojo Monday

Wishing you the Sweetest Things...

Even though purple is definitely not up there with my favourite colours, when I saw this months inspiration photo from Scrapbook Boutique, I knew it was perfect for my MFT "Wishing you the Sweetest Things" sentiment.  I loved the lattice icing, repeated in the papers from Kaisercraft and Penny Black, and the cute icing roses replicated using Prima flowers.  Cardstock is textured cordinations, finished off with a cute butterfly hand cut from Kaisercraft papers.  Perfectly suited to this months gorgeous inspiration sketch from SFYTT at I (heart) to Stamp.

Many thanks for dropping by - and Happy Chinese New Year to you too!

Holiday Happiness...

One of the best things about being on holidays is that I get to play... with my family and with my stash LOL!

I couldn't resist these gorgeous colours from The Paper Players - brilliant for Christmas, and for Valentines Day!  Combined with this weeks sketch from Deconstructing Jen - couldn't resist turning those scallops into hearts :) I used Couture Creations Key to my Heart embossing folder for the main heart, and Heidi Swapp All my love sentiment with Pipe Dream Ink embossing powder in Banksia.

Hope you have time to play too :)
