They call me Bond...

They call me... BOND

Loved the colours in last weeks inspiration from Colour Combo Challenge, just took a while to do the layout with preparation for Christmas ;)  Inspired by all the circles, lines and textures.

The journalling reads... "This little guinea pig was only about a week old in this photo (taken on our WA farmstay), he crawled up DDs sleeve and no matter how much we tried to gently shake him out, he would not budge, so we nick-named him BOND - shaken, but not stirred.  I love how DD bonds with all creatures great & small too :)"

Hope you & yours had a fantastic Christmas too - I know we did!!!

Have you been naughty or nice...

Thought I'd try and do an Aussie Christmas photo with my two elves down by the beach, but the big elf decided to be naughty by refusing to wear her attractive head attire AND and trying and steal the little elfs hat LOL!

Chriastmas tree oh christmas tree...

Finally got to putting up our Christmas tree on the weekend, which is fantastic news, because it means our lounge room is almost habitable again!!!  Putting the finishing touches on the cabinet we purchased on eBay to convert it to our TV cabinet, and the new fireplace, just in time for Santa to make his way down the chimney!!!

Sold our old single antique bed in DS room to make way for another eBay purchase of a loft bed.  Was going to sand this little gem off the slats of his old bed, but couldn't bring myself to do it.  "I did it when I was really little, so I could remember how to get out of my bedroom"  he explained...

Toddler rules...

"Toddler rules..." don't they always LOL!
It's been a while since my subject was a toddler, but I LOVE the little tongue poke whilst clutching his precious collection of treasures found on the beach.  Ever since I saw "The 7 Rules of the Toddler" on Emily Falconbridges blog I knew that's how I'd scrap this photo - just taken a while to do it!!!  Inspired by this week at the Color Room to finally add the finishing touches :)
Just in case you can't read them, here are the rules:

  1. If I like it, it’s mine
  2. If it’s in my hands it’s mine
  3. If I can take it from you, it’s mine.
  4. If I had it before, it’s mine
  5. If it’s mine it must never appear to be yours, in any way
  6. If I’m doing or building something, all of the pieces are mine
  7. If it looks like mine, it is MINE!

Share...

"Share..."

"The greatest moments in life were made to share..."

Of course, life is not always this caring & sharing, but we can live in hope... LOL!

Inspired by the baubles to combine this weeks Colour Combo Challenge Colours into this months Stuck? Sketch. Lots of bling - gold ink, diamonte flower centres, pearls and sparkly alpha.

Cherish...

I've always LOVEd Louise Nelson's work, so using the palette from this weeks Colour Combo challenge (inspired to use something from my garden) and based on Get Picky's Sketch 2 (which I just realised has already closed LOL!) I managed this... and I LOVE it - so quick to do too :)

I love "two bees"...

I really love "two bees" in Lavendula

Wow - two posts in one day LOL!

Stumbled across the newly re-launched "white with 1 (WW1)" site and it was just the motivation I needed to complete a layout I had started for "Get Picky's" Sketch #1 last month. The yellow in this months WW1 really makes the lavender photos pop!  Saw the technique to create textured clouds using cuttlebug swirls on someone's blog recently - just can't remember who - but thanks for the idea!!!

Memories like this... priceless

Memories like this... priceless
Not quite sure what it is with my pages lately, start off heading in one direction and keep ending up in a whole different city - sometimes even a different country LOL!  This is a boy page - not that you'd guess it with all these flowers going on!!!

Loved the colours at Color Combo Challenge this week.  Couldn't wait to dust off my cuttlebug and used the damask folder on cor'dinations cardstock as the background - then promptly covered it with flowers!  Bird and branches rub-ons from Jenni Bowlin are on damask paper too.

Given what happened last week, shared moments like these are more precious than ever :)

i am...

i am...
... lovin' the colour palette at The Colour Room!!!   Believe it or not this was based on this weeks sketch as well, I rotated it clockwise and shifted the journalling tag down - these things never quite turn out the way you planned lol!  Loving the new Prima flowers & sprays too ;)
Journalling is an excerpt from a poem my DD wrote at school earlier this year.

Life is bliss... taste it!

Take 2!!
Life is bliss... taste it!
TCR#31
Joined in the Top 50 Scrapbooking "Life as we know it" Challenges this week.  Challenge 1 is based on a quote from Mother Teresa, which in part is "Life is bliss... taste it!".  I had the perfect photo - one of my current favourites of my two kiddies sharing an ice-cream.  Other criteria for the challenge were at least one flower, ribbon or lace and an embellishment cluster - got them covered!

Not wanting to waste an opportunity I combined this challenge with this weeks inspiration from The Colour Room... so yummy you could taste it LOL!

Had another play with my layout and enlarged the photo to balance with the embellishments better & added a pink frame to ground the layout.

Two by Sea...

Two by Sea
Colour palette #30
Love the inspiration this week in the colour room, was hoping to do another but maybe later - busy painting & party preparations this week :)

Photos from our recent trip to WA - even in the midst of winter these two love nothing more than playing by the sea.

Don't fall off your perch...

LOL!!! Yep I've finally blogged again!

So many times I've picked out my papers and photos ready to scrap lately, and that's as far as I've got - but the house renos are going well :) It's taken so long that we are back to re-do the rooms we started on - so we have a sparkly new study / sunroom, the lounge room is next then it's time for the dining / craft room to get its makeover - can't wait.

Here's what I came up with for this weeks palette in The Colour Room - just managed to squeeze in some blue along with tonnes of pink & green. I can't believe my #1 is almost as tall as me now - time flies (when you're renovating!!!)

Just realised in the time I've been away blogger has gone and removed the easy option for adding photos direct - so hopefully this works!!!  YAY I just have to "compose" myself before I can "edit"!!

Don't know if you've gone back to Colour Combos site lately - I love some of the colour combos but can't seem to find suitable photos to match their "inspiration".  Keep hoping I will be able to again soon :)

Oh and before I forget...
I had to laugh when DS was packing for camp, fitting a LOT of gear into a LITTLE bag, his comment..."It's like trying to stuff an elephant into a thimble!!!"

Do I like Cocaine...

A little voice piped up from behind me as we were driving to swimming lessons. "Why is that lady asking if he likes cocaine???"

The first question that popped into my head was - how does he know about cocaine?!? He's not even into double digits yet!!!

The second was, this song is NOT about cocaine, so why does he think it is?!? I scanned my brain for the lyrics and realised the words are actually "And when she asks, Do I look OK?" but he would not be convinced that he wasn't singing "And when she asks, Do I like cocaine?"

Just like my friends kiddy was convinced that James Rayne sings "Don't eat your breakfast" instead of "Don't be so reckless" LOL

In case you are wondering I managed to delete my blog before I realised I could just password protect it if I wanted to drop off the radar. So I'm back for now anyways.

Inspired by this weeks offerings at "The Color Room" and some of the 600 odd photos I took while we visited WA with my brother and his family. Glad we decided not to go skiing in New Zealand instead - and glad all my in-laws in Christchurch are no longer shaking in their boots.
