A-very CASual Father's Day...

Thought I'd POP in to share a quick CAS Father's Day card. Even though Father's Day isn't for a couple of months in this corner of the world, there are a couple of masculine challenges at the moment, so I thought I'd join in to make sure I don't miss the boat!  This card combines AEI{heart}U Masculine / Father's Day Challenge, Paper Players Red, White, Blue and CASual Fridays What A Catch to create a guy card with the following catch... you can't use kraft as a color at all, AND you have to include some sort of ribbon.

I created a First Prize rosette for the Best. Dad. Ever. using Avery Elle's The Man stamp sentiment stamped in Momento Ink Nautical Blue and Avery Elle pinked circle die cut, together with some ribbon from my stash.

Hope you are enjoying the best. weekend. ever. Wherever you are!

The dock can sea you now...

Inspired by the nautical colours from this weeks CASual Fridays Challenge, this versatile i-Spy Sketch, and The Paper Players Tic Tac Toe - Blue / Dry Embossing / Masculine, I thought I'd try a technique new to me, involving dry embossing a strip of watercolour paper, using my bubble border embossing folder, then wet embossing the raised sections using my Versamark Clear Embossing pen and clear embossing powder, before over-spraying the dampened watercolour paper with Dylusions Fresh Lime and Vibrant Turquoise, and a couple of drops of Sapphire Glimmer Mist.  The Alley Way Stamps Castaway fish was stamped in Versamark Watermark Ink then heat embossed with Denim Zing, and watercoloured in Dylusions Fresh Lime and Vibrant Turquoise.  Inside reads "Hope you're feeling ship shape soon!", 'cause there's nothing quite like a sea-sick fish LOL!

Hope you are having a FABULOUS week :)

The Paper Players on a CAS-ual Friday...

Loved the classic colours at The Paper Players this week... gorgeous navy teamed with white and silver, together with a very elegant sketch at CAS-ual Friday.

I used a sharp blade to cut around my angel outline (adapted from one I found on-line at Pink Paper Peppermints), leaving just a couple of millimetres gap for folding the image forward to make a 3D card.  Pop dots for the white angel image to give added depth, and my favourite silver tinsel embossing powder with Hero Arts sentiment stamp.

Think I might try another version with textured embossed cardstock next... and here it is!

Hope you are enjoying your Thursday too :)
