More or Less CAS-ual...

I thought I'd share a bit of the thinking process that went into the creation of this card :)  Yes, I do think before I craft - sometimes too much perhaps LOL!

I thought I'd combine this weeks Less is More Blue & Green challenge with CAS-ual Fridays On Cloud 9.   There are soooo many possibilities for cards to create that sometimes I find it easier to narrow down the possibilities by combining challenges.  As green and blue are harmonious colours, they are excellent candidates for creating layered inky backgrounds.  I sprayed my watercolour paper with Dylusions Vibrant Turquoise, Fresh Lime, and added a bit of sparkle by overspraying with Glimmermist Denim.  For me a negative die-cut is perfect for a "Miss You" card - because in order to create a negative die cut, something has to be missing!  I cut the circle from my sprayed watercolour paper to represent the sun, and then negative die cut my Marianne Design bird and branch and pop-dotted it onto my white cardstock.  The Paper Smooches Sentiment Sampler "Miss You" was the right size for balance and it's in a casual font which suits the bright colours.  Next I matched the cardstock base colour to the darkest shade of blue in my circle to repeat and anchor it.  I wanted to soften the edges of the card to reflect the circle shape, so I used a corner rounder.  I left the bottom right corner squared off to serve the dual purpose of helping to focus on the sentiment, and the corner was missed - as is the recipient!

 What thoughts inspire your creations?!?

There She Goes on a Mojo Throwdown...

Had so much fun getting messy with inks last week, thought I'd have another go!  Inspired by this gorgeous photo from There She Goes, this lovely pastel palette from Colour Throwdown, and fab Mojo Monday Sketch.  Papers are a combination of Prima Songbird Collection (fussy cut and pop-dotted), Echo Park This & That and MME Miss Caroline, My Favourite Things scalloped border and hearts die-cuts, love this birdhouse die-cut from Marianne Design and the gorgeous sentiment is There She Goes Day or Night. Got inky with Tim Holtz Distress Ink Vintage Photo and twine is The Twinery Buttercup.

We're off for a short change of scenery - have a GREAT weekend!

A Retro Moxie Play Date...

Just LOVE the colour combo at Play Date Cafe this week - almost didn't get to play as we only arrived back from our technology-free Easter :)  at Falls Creek - where it even snowed for us!!!

This card was inspired by the colours, branches and window from Play Date Cafe, the gorgeous colours, die-cut prints and birds from Tuesday Trigger at Moxiefabworld, and this cute sketch over at Retro Sketches.  The double frames were negative die cut using Coture Creations Victorian Square dies, the little birdie and branch are from Marianne Design LR0137, and the papers are from My Minds Eye On the Bright Side 2, pop-dotted for visual texture too.  The cute sentiment is from my stash - could be from American Crafts.

Hope you and yours had a fab Easter too!
This "Shout Out" made me smile :)

And this Trigger Target too :) :) :)

Colour Q - Hope Perches on the Soul...

Inspired by this weeks gorgeous combination of blue-greens and purples by Colour Q.  This gorgeous bird on a branch die cut is by Marianne Design, the scalloped circle is a Marvy punch, papers by Authentique Gathering, MME On the Bright Side - Two, and a special Australian Papercraft paper by docrafts.  This gorgeous sentiment stamp by Verve has been stamped in Versa Colour Violet - as much as I love this colour, makes me wish I had a few more Stampin' Up ink colours.

We can always live in hope :)

The Alley Way Herd you're Moovin'

Inspired by this fortnights gorgeous inspiration photo from The Alley Way Stamps.  I love the shutters opening on the verandah, and designed a gatefold opening card.  Love the way the barn turned out stamped on MME On the Bright Side - Two paper.  Stamps are from The Alley Way Get Moovin', Ei-ei-o and Chatterbox (used the "in" from "dream in colour" sentiment and the "Moov" from "Moove").  Grass die cut is from My Favourite Things and the fence die-cut is from Marianne Design.  Sentiment inside reads "Herd you're MOOving".

Loved it so much I created a second version - this time I added "We are" from The Alley Way Chatterbox and pop-dotted the barn, cow and pig.  The barn was created using Pink Paislee paper, and as much as I loved the old timber look of the first barn, I think I prefer this second barn on the card :)

Hope you have a wonderful day today.
