A MUSEing Train of Happy Thoughts...

When I first saw Therese's fab MUSE card this week, I was immediately drawn to the negative die cut and yellow background, which made me think of the sun, which reminded me of some free downloadable wall art I had seen on-line, which inspired me to create this...

As the focus of my wall art is negative die cuts, I couldn't resist playing along with the Moxie Fab World Card Creations Week - Emphasise the Negative Challenge, Just Us Girls Negative Die Cut Challenge, and as this verse is taken from a song I thought it was perfect for playing along at City Crafter Challenge Inspired by a Song too.

Wall Art created using paper from October Afternoon, My Favorite Things die-cut clouds and alpha, Marvy scalloped circle punch was used as the basic outline for the sun then hand cut the rays, Cuttlebug swirl embossing folder, Basic Grey alphas and LOTS of pop dots!

Thank you so much for stopping by, I really appreciate your visit :)

A Tale of Two Cards...

Card #2 - Keepin' it Simple

Card #1
I thought I'd play along with two challenges this week by combining Paper Smooches Sparks Challenge with the Keep It Simple Snowman Challenge.  My first card (below) was based on a rather literal interpretation of this weeks Paper Smooches sketch, and I wasn't convinced it was CAS enough for Keep It Simple, so I CASed it up a little more, with a more metaphorical (or in this case perhaps it's meta-chlorophyll) interpretation LOL.  As the CAS version was so predominantly red, I thought I'd add it to this weeks CASology Red Challenge too.  Both cards are created using Paper Smooches Warm Hearts and Pretty Phrases, together with October Afternoons Cakewalk papers and Dienamic Snowdrift diecuts.  Card #1 also has a cute Studio Calico wood veneer heart.

Season's Greetings Two Roo...

I know it's not supposed to be good form to laugh at your own jokes, but making this card just made me smile.  It's as Aussie a Christmas card as I'll be making this year :)  Inspired by this weeks Paper Smooches Sparks Trend Watch Challenge Cameras or Polaroids, traditional Christmas colours from Color Throwdown and this fab sketch from Retro Sketches.

Stamps are all from Paper Smooches, A Little Lovin', He Said She Said, Swanky Snowdudes and Alphadot. Papers are a mix of old Daisy D and October Afternoon Christmas papers, finished off with a holly sticker from October Afternoon and some gorgeous Holly Berry twine from Trendy Twine.

I hope Roo have a Happy Season too!

Don't Follow Your Dreams...

Inspired by the gorgeous colours from this months Jay Gee's Nook Challenge, this weeks My Favorite Things sketch and Fancy Flowers at Ribbon Carousel.  Papers are a mix of Kaisercraft Fine & Dandy and October Afternoon Sidewalk. I matched the stamp from My Favorite Things Vertical Sentiments, with the die cut from Vertical Sentiments 2.  The flowers are fussy cut from Kaisercraft Fine & Dandy, finished with stitching (amazingly lol!) and a Divine Twine bow.

For those of you who may not receive Ali Edwards weekly creative inspiration emails, this weeks struck a chord with me, it was about making sure you not only have dreams, but ensuring that you take the time to turn your dreams into actions.

Enjoy chasing your dreams today!

Check It ... A CASE of Dynamic Duos

Todays card was made for my Mum - definately a one-of-a-kind, and not always appreciated for it.  Had a chuckle to myself when I realised I was extolling the virtues of being an original, whilst CASEing a card - but hey it's an ORIGINAL copy lol!

Inspired by the layout of this weeks gorgeous CASE Study card, and the fabulous Dynamic Duo of So Saffron (yellow) and Pool Party (aqua), I thought I'd play along with the Gingham Challenge in the Moxie Fab World too.  The main stamp is from Prima, and this gorgeous sentiment is from My Favourite Things Clearly Sentimental About Art.  Gingham paper is from October Afternoon with some gorgeous grosgrain ribbon from American Crafts, My Favourite Things butterfly die-cut and EK Success scalloped border punch.

Hope you have a wonderful day today too :)

Happy Mothers Day & Thanks for Dropping By...

I hope everyone is having a wonderful Mothers Day, whether celebrating it yourself, or with your Mum!  Also a huge "Thanks for dropping by!" on the There She Goes Mother Of All Blog Hops yesterday - I couldn't resist making one more card featuring the There She Goes Under The Weather stamp set - and don't forget, there is plenty more inspiration today!  This card was inspired by this weeks versatile Freshly Made sketch and this gorgeous rainbow inspiration from Scrapbook Boutique.  Papers are a mix from Kaisercraft, Echo Park and October Afternoon.

Hope you have a wonderful Mother's Day.  Thanks for dropping by!

Over the Mooon...

Inspired by this gorgeous palette from Color Throwdown, I have made another bib-shaped card, perfect for a baby announcement or congratulations.  Had fun paper pieceing my cow based on an October Afternoon stamp, with the legs repositioned to make it look more like it is actually jumping over the moon.  Clouds are from Paper Smooches Whimsy, and sentiment created from Paper Smooches Alphadots, stamped in Stampin' Up Chocolate Chip.  I created the moon shape by punching a circle then punching a "bite" out of the circle to create the crescent shape - much the same way I created the basic bib pattern too :)

Hope your day brings you something to be over the moon about too :)

There She Goes on a CASual Play Date...

Loving the brights this week at The Play Date Cafe - decided that I am definitely a brights girl when it comes to crafting.  I combined this weeks stunning colour palette with this weeks CAS-ual Friday paper piecing challenge and There She Goes negative die cut challenge.  The lighter blue cloud and grass are created from negative die cuts in the white cardstock.  The gorgeoous Paper Smoochers sun and WeR Memory Keepers bee are stamped onto October Afternoon paper and cut out, and together with the darker blue clouds are all pop-dotted for added dimension.  The sentiment is Paper Smooches too.

Hope the sun is shining in your corner of the world too!

PS. This put a smile on my face too :)

Have Ewe Herd the News...

Happy Australia Day!!!

I must admit this black & white theme at CAS-ual Fridays had me challenged!  Then I started thinking, what else is black & white (besides penguins!) and I thought of newspapers and sheep.

I used October Afternoon sheep (ewe) stamp over a Prima newspaper stamp, and hand cut the sheep then pop-dotted the herd for added dimension.  The original October Afternoon sentiment stamp reads "Have you herd the news" but I couldn't resist masking the "you" and changing it to "ewe".  It just appeals to my sense of humour LOL!

And it's perfect for Australia Day too :)
