It's Plane I {heart} You, The Alley Way...

Second post for the day...

Did a happy dance when my The Alley Ways Stamps arrived today!!!  Inspired by this weeks plane and the country theme at The Play Date Cafe, (love that the writing looks like little lasoos!) Man, It's CAS-ual Friday! and Splitcoast have a CAS "Love Theme" going on at the moment too.  Stamped my gorgeous The Alley Ways Priceless Joy plane on Cosmo Cricket Baby Jane, and created the "I {heart} u" by creating the outline with a ribbon of glue topped by Divine Twine, and added a little blue cloud pop-dotted for added texture.

Hope you have a FAB day!

Doing a HAPPY DANCE :)

Tomorrow's forecast...Less is More at the Play Date Cafe!

This is one of those cards I love the idea of more than I love the finished card, I still love the card - I just love the idea of it more lol!  How cute is the "country theme" in the inspiration photo at The Play Date Cafe this week, I ran with it, creating patchwork clouds from Authentique Glory with a little Lily Bee Designs Double Dutch too.  There may be too many ideas going on here to still make it a CAS card, but it is still shaped for the Less is More Challenge!  This gorgeous sentiment was part of the Flourishes April Showers I was lucky enough to win recently, stamped onto a McGill Fancy Square.

Back with more soon!

Don't Follow Your Dreams...

Inspired by the gorgeous colours from this months Jay Gee's Nook Challenge, this weeks My Favorite Things sketch and Fancy Flowers at Ribbon Carousel.  Papers are a mix of Kaisercraft Fine & Dandy and October Afternoon Sidewalk. I matched the stamp from My Favorite Things Vertical Sentiments, with the die cut from Vertical Sentiments 2.  The flowers are fussy cut from Kaisercraft Fine & Dandy, finished with stitching (amazingly lol!) and a Divine Twine bow.

For those of you who may not receive Ali Edwards weekly creative inspiration emails, this weeks struck a chord with me, it was about making sure you not only have dreams, but ensuring that you take the time to turn your dreams into actions.

Enjoy chasing your dreams today!

A BIG Colour Q...

Second post for the day :)

Just for fun!  This weeks Colour Q colours just remind me of little kids toys, and seeing as I married a big kid at heart, thought I'd make a card to celebrate someones BIG day :)  Love My Favorite Things cityscape die-cut cut in Echo Parks Dots and Stripes with Kaisercraft Fine & Sunny die-cut helicopter, Echo Park Hello Summer clouds, and My Favourite Things BIG sentiment.

Hope you are enjoying a wonderful weekend :)

This made me smile :)

A CASE of Ribbon Carousel The Alley Way...

CASE Study Card

As soon as I saw this weeks gorgeous CASE Study card, I knew I had to make a "Bee all you can bee" card :)  The "B" is based on Basic Grey monogram letters, cut from Echo Park Country Drive paper, pop-dotted on Bella honeycomb impressioned cardstock.  I reverse stamped this cute bee from The Alley Way ei-ei-o, and the sentiment is comprised of "bee"tween, "a"re + sti"ll", "you", "con"gratulations (changing to the o to an a) all from The Alley Way Chatterbox and Jibber Jabber.  The bees trail is created from Divine Twine, and I added some pewter Kaisercraft Pearls to personalise the Prima Sun Kiss flower - not quite homemade, but at least home embellished, for the Ribbon Carousel Fancy Flowers Challenge.

Don't forget there's still time to apply for TAWS DT and Papercraft Gallery Idol 2012.
Best of Luck!

Retro Dynamic Duos More or Less...

Inspired by Arielle's gorgeous Retro Sketch together with Dynamic Duos Daffodil Delight & Basic Black with Dessert Option of Dry Embossing, and Less is More.  The star die-cuts are My Favourite Things, making it perfect for CAS-ual Fridays Punchy Challenge too ;)  The base cardstock is dry embossed using Craft Concepts Stary Night, and stamps are Verve Always on My Mind.  The button from my collection is hung from Divine Twine.  This gorgeous yellow polka-dot paper is from Doodlebug Design Sugar & Spice - perfect for baby and new parent cards.

Thought I would enter this into Gallery Idol 2012 "Encouragement Cards"
You can join in too, just upload your card here at PaperCrafts Connection by May 28
Good Luck :)

These brightened my day too :)

CAS-ual Paper Smooches More or Less...

Second post for the day :)

Inspired by the gorgeous colours in this weeks Paper Smooches Sparks Cool Shades Challenge, Less Is More Baby Card Challenge, CAS-ual Friday Punchy Challenge. I have a baby and kids market coming up soon, so this is a perfect opportunity to add some more baby cards to the collection.

I love using coloured inks to stamp - the overall impact is much more delicate - which I think suits baby cards :)  Here I have used a teal ink to stamp the Paper Smooches A Little Lovin' sentiment, and Color Box Liquid Chalk Yellow Ochre for Paper Smooches Spring Fling Chick.  The "baby" was negative di-cut using May Favourite Things Die-namics By the Letters, and pop-dotted, along with the chicks body, for added texture. The gorgeous pale blue, teal and ochre check is Fancy Pants Childish Things - perfect for baby cards :)

Hope you are having a wonderful week :)

Skipping Stones in Our Creative Corner...

Our Creative Corner Inspiration Photo

Skipping Stones Design Sketch

Inspired by this weeks Skipping Stones Design Sketch the blues and oranges of Our Creative Corner Inspiration Photo, and CAS-ual Fridays Punchy Challenge.  I love the simplicity, comfort and homeliness of this weeks inspiration photo, and to me nothing says simple, comfortable and home more than a pair of jeans!  I sewed denim paper to resemble a pair of almost impossible to button-up jeans, perfect to accompany these gorgeous coffee cup stain and sentiment stamps from Skipping Stones Design Funny Coffee Vol #1, and I couldn't resist adding buttons when taking my photos!

Papers are from My Minds Eye Bright Side One, scalloped circle punch from Spellbinders and stamped in Stampin' Up Chocolate Chip.

In case you can't read the sentiment it says:
"Some things are just better strong:
coffee, men and the button on my jeans!"

Hope your buttons are holding strong today!!!

Moxie Fab Tuesday Trigger The Alley Way...

Second post for the day!!

OK so you have probably guessed by now that I LOVE brights and I LOVE gingham, so put on your sunglasses for this one ;)

This was actually the first idea I had as soon as I saw these delicious gelato-coloured cookies from Tuesday Trigger Bright Bite at Moxie Fab World all stacked up in a nice neat pile.  The cherry was fussy cut from Rose Moka Pique-Nique, and this gorgeous gingham cone was cut from Lily Bee Designs Double Dutch, perfect for the Gingham Challenge at Moxie Fab World.  I created the gorgeous gelato scoops from my scraps by stamping The Alley Way Get MOOvin' clouds in Stampin Up Melon Mambo, Tangerine Tango and Versa Colour Lime - all good enough to eat!!!  I stamped the sentiment in the same inks, using a variety of alphas from The Alley Way Get MOOvin', ei-ei-o and Chatterbox.

Hope your day is delicious too!

The Alley Way Moxie Fab Mojo Monday

Hope to just squeeze in for the gorgeous The Alley Way Stamps BE Inspired Challenge and Mojo Monday Challenge, and couldn't help but add this to the ever popular Gingham Challenge at Moxie Fab World.

Just in case you are wondering how I was inspired by the BE Inspired photo, other than the gorgeous colour combination of green, brown, light tan, teal and burnt orange, you may remember the sayings "Proud as a peacock" and "Pride comes before a fall", well what comes after a fall?  Someone asking "How are you???"  Obvious isn't it LOL!

I just love The Alley Way stamps for paper piecing, their stamps are just so cute, including this sheep and hay (used as grass tufts) from ei-ei-o, and the sentiment is taken from the "ewe" and "ho" from "horse" from Get MOOvin' and the "are" and "w" from Chatterbox.  Papers are a mix of gingham from Lily Bee Design and Echo Park, with the spots from Echo Park too. All the stamping is in Stampin' Up Chocolate Chip, and the scalloped circle die cut is Spellbinders.  I took a bit of liberty with the Mojo Monday sketch by using my sun as a flower and moving the sentiment banner to the base of the card - just don't tell anyone ;)

Hope you have enjoyed a wonderful weekend :)

Update -  I participated in The Alley Way Stamps / Ribbon Carousel bloghop recently, and had not realised what an impression Laurel Seabrooks card had made til I went back and checked it out (pun intended!) again today.  Her gorgeous creation can be seen here

The Alley Way Moxie Tuesday Trigger...

Second post of the day :)

The Alley Way Stamps are having a Design Team Call so I thought I'd start making a few cards to showcase their great designs - I just love their funky font!  Also inspired by this weeks delicious colours and shapes from the Tuesday Trigger Bright Bite, the very popular Gingham Challenge at Moxie Fab World and CAS-ual Fridays Punchy Challenge.

I punched my circles from Lily Bee Designs Double Dutch and stamped them using The Alley Ways Jibber Jabber and Chatterbox.  The "World" was a combination of sentiment stamps "W" from "Wishes", "OR" from Color, "L" from "Cool" and "D" is an up-side-down "P" from "Prayers".  I have discovered that when you are stamping / masking using a variety of sentiments, it is always less risky to use letter/s from the beginning or end of the sentiment, rather than the middle :)  Pop-dotted "You" and "My" for added texture too!

Hope your world is full of colour too!!!

Trigger Tuesday Moxie Gingham Splatter...

Inspired by this weeks delicious Tuesday Trigger Bright BitesGingham Challenge in Moxie Fab World and the Splatter Challenge in Moxie Fab World together with CAS-ual Fridays Punches Challenge.  Love the bright colours and circles from this weeks Tuesday Trigger inspiration photo, I punched circles of solid colour from my Basic Grey and Pink Paisley scraps, and the checks, waves and spots are all Lily Bee Designs Double Dutch - a fantastic resource for gingham addicts!  The splatter was created by flicking the tube of Glimmermist in Olive Green, Cherry Red and Harvest Orange. This gorgeous sentiment is from My Favourite Things.

I discovered a really neat trick while making this card - I usually get really frustrated when I design a layout for my card (or scrapbooking) and then have to attempt to move all the overlapping pieces to stick it down, I thought what I need is a big not-so-sticky sheet to adhere to the top of my layout which enables me to turn my pieces over all at once, to adhere it to my cardstock base, then peel off the sheet.  Apologies to those who already know this trick, but I realised the answer to my problem was staring me in the face - POST IT notes!  So I was able to stick my layout down, in the right place, in no time flat!!!

Cat as Trophy or Catastrophe...

Just thought I'd have a bit of pun with this weeks Feathered Friends Challenge at CAS-ual Fridays, together with this gorgeous colour combo from Color Throwdown, and Sketchbook Saturday Challenge.  These cute stamps are Paper Smooches Chubby Chums and Party Posse with the  Alphadots sentiment stamped in Stampin Up Tangerine Tango and Melon Mambo.  The birdcage and branch are My Favourite Things, securely tied together with Twinery twine.  Sophistocats collar is blinged with Kaisercraft too - after all a girl always has to look her best lol!
