FUSION - Wooden Hearts

Welcome to FUSION inspiration! This fortnights card is inspired by the gorgeous wood paneled heart, paired with the too cute hessian wrapped roses. Created using Winnie and Walter The Big, the Bold and Extras roses, banner (with Momento Luxe Rose Bud stamped on gelatos watercolour base), and leaves (with Momento Luxe Pistachio stamped on Pear Tart) then fussy cut. The background is a piece of canvas my Mum had purchased when we lived in America and I just started school LOL! The wooden plank paper is Kaisercraft, diecut with Winnie and Walter The Big, the Bold and the Happy Cutaways sentiment to create the shaker cutaway, which is filled with Pretty Pink Posh confetti hearts.

Winner Coffee Lovers Holiday Blog Hop...

So happy to see so many more smiley faces following my blog - thank you so much for joining in the journey - much appreciated :)

By cut off time for commenting there were 215 super sweet comments on my three Coffee Lovers Holiday Blog Hop posts (85, 55 and 75 respectively). Mr Random (aka DS) kindly chose #157, so without further ado, the winner of the gorgeous Winnie and Walter The Big, The Bold and the Merry stamp set is...

  1. Yummy, Yummy...I KNOW it smells just as good as it looks. LOVE it. Love the script on the Winnie and Walter set. Thanks for introducing me to this company- through hopping to you, I have now found a new company to contribute my hard earned money to.
I couldn't let the opportunity pass to make another card featuring the gorgeous Winnie and Walter script...

Created using Winnie and Walter This Awesome House, stamped and embossed in white on Kaisercraft wooden paper, cut with a craft knife on three sides (and sections of the doors and windows removed) to create an opening for the peek-a-boo heart shaker inside, Winnie and Walter The Big, the Bold and the Merry Cutaways sentiment also diecut from Kaisercraft papers, with Happy Holidays sentiment stamped and embossed in white.

Winnie & Walter Sale!

You had better get your skates on if you want to catch these FABULOUS Black Friday and Cyber Monday specials at Winnie and Walter (available while supplies last 28 November - 1 December)!

My amazing package from Winnie and Walter has just arrived, and I couldn't wait to play with my fabulous new stamps, die cuts and screens! Just in time to play along with this months Winnie and Walter Playdate Challenge too. Inspired by the gorgeous pinecone wreath, the Winnie and Walter Winter Wonderland pine sprig was stamped in a wreath shape, first in Momento Luxe Pear Tart, then overstamped in Momento Luxe Pistachio, with the pine cones stamped last in Momento Luxe Rich Cocoa. Winnie and Walter The Big, The Bold and the Merry Cutaways sentiment was created by sandwiching two white cardstock and one top gold cardstock layer adhered together before die cutting, then adding the Liquid Pearls Gold Pearl berries as a finishing touch.

Twinkle All the Way...

After creating this card for last weeks Less Is More, I thought I'd have a go at making a one layer card version. I die cut two stencils from clear acetate sheeting, one with the negative space from Lil Inkers Stitched Square and the other with Making Memories Country Landscape, then taped them together to use as my mask for inking. Inked up with Distress Ink in Tumbled Glass, Salty Ocean and Dusty Concord, moving upwards to the deepest colour. Stamped with Mama Elephant Believe in Magic star cluster and Winter Wonderland large star in Momento Luxe Wedding ink embossed in white embossing powder then added Mama Elephant Merry Greetings sentiment in black, and Wink of Stella Clear Sparkle to the night sky. It felt like it needed a little extra boost, so I created a hand drawn outline in black fine-liner for added depth.

I Fall 4 U...

Now I dare you no to have that song running around your head for the next 20 minutes LOL!

Created with left over leaves from this card, I thought I'd create a Valentine's Day card to play along with Lawnscaping Pumpkin / Fall Challenge. Seize the Birthday have a Monochromatic Orange challenge at the moment this would be perfect for - but for the slightly excluding fact it is not a birthday card LOL!

The Lawn Fawn Autumn Leaves were die cut from watercolour paper with Twinkling H2O (Egyptian Gold, Autumn Butternut, Poppy) and LuminArte (Sunflower, Yellow Rose, Orange Peel, Persimmon), and the Lawn Fawn Into the Woods fox was stamped and paper pieced using scraps of Basic Grey papers. The sentiment was created using Lawn Fawn Into the Woods "fall" and Riley's ABCs.

Altenew Chocolate Delight...

Having seen the sneak peeks of Altenew's brand new release over the past couple of days, I can see my wishlist growing by the minute! I couldn't resist playing along with their October Challenge, with this super photo inspiration. I picked up on the gold stamping, floral and wedding theme, and pearl drops. Stamping these gorgeous Antenew Persian Motive flowers and Magnolias for Her sentiment with gold embossing powder, colouring with Copics (BG000, BG11, BG15, E11 and E33, super quick, and I went for milk chocolate more than dark chocolate!) and adding some MME gold glitter enamel dots to finish.

Why don't you drop by Altenew for some fabulous inspiration, and check out their new release you could win some of while you are there!

CAS(E) this Sketch Guest Designer

Super excited to have been asked to Guest DT over at CAS(E) this Sketch, and with this fabulous sketch from Gayatri to work with, who could say no!!!

Mixed and matched my Merry and Christmas diecuts from Papertrey Ink and Paper Smooches, together with these gorgeous felt holly leaves and berries from my stash (I think they may have been Making Memories), but you could replicate these using die cuts too. I usually find if I am die cutting more intricate shapes from felt, it helps to coat the back of the felt with Ribbon Stiffener and let it dry before you cut to give it more body. These cute background papers are from Heidi Sawpp and Kaisercraft Basecoat Christmas.

Remember to stop by the CAS(E) this Sketch Design Team blogs for more fabulous inspiration.

Hope you can get to play along too - I'd LOVE to see what you create.

Keep It Simple By 3...

As soon as I saw this fortnight's Keep It Simple "3" challenge, I knew I wanted to use this super cute trio of animals and notes by Tara Wakefield. Coloured in three colours, with heart patterned paper covering one third of the card, three corners rounded, and a three word sentiment by Simon Says Stamp (even two of the three words have three letters!).

Mixed Media Card Challenge - Vintage (Key)

I do hope you get to play along with this months Mixed Media Card Challenge, Theme: Vintage, Optional Element: Key

Whenever I think of vintage cards I think of Distress Inks and layering, and the first thing I thought of for the "optional element: key", was this fabulous sentiment by Dyan Reaveley The Right Words.

The cream patterned hearts paper by Pink Paislee, was over-stamped with Darkroom Door Sheet Music in Vintage Photo Distress Ink, Dyan Reaveley The Right Words sentiment was stamped in black, fussy cut and distressed with Vintage Photo Distress Ink. The heart template (a free outline downloaded from the internet) was hand cut from Sandylion patterned paper and pop-dotted over the lace ribbon from my stash. I added the Teresa Collins key and a huge dose of Vintage Photo Distress Ink, so much so I looked like I had developed a 20 pack a day habit!

Love FUSION...

How will you be inspired this fortnight? When we went away, we were each lucky enough to receive a fabulous bag of goodies from the gorgeous Joy. As I was working on this FUSION Challenge, how could I not incorporate these stunning flowers onto my card? I paired them with these die cut rose leaves, Simon Says Stamp Hugs and Kisses, and Love sentiment, die cut twice and offset to create shadowed letters. Following the sketch, I inset the negative die cut Lil Inkers Stitched Oval with the flowers and petals, and used the hugs and kisses die cut as the ribbon strip.

A Lucky FUSION...

Can't wait to see how you will be inspired by FUSION this fortnight!

With St Patrick's Day soon, I thought it would be fun to create this Lucky Me card, inspired by the colours of this weeks FUSION inspiration photo, together with this fabulously versatile FUSION sketch.  Played with my gelatos and watercolours again, blending two shades of green for both the background and the paper piecing of this gorgeous little Paper Smooches frog. Added silver sparkles for his crown and stars, and finished with Lawn Fawn die cut letters and Paper Smooches sentiment.

How to play:
1. Play with just the sketch challenge.
2. Play with just the inspiration photo challenge.
3. Or you can create FUSION by combining BOTH challenges into one card.
4. Use the challenge graphic and link back to Fusion in your post.
5. Please read the other considerations on the Rules Page before playing along.
