Winnie & Walter Happy Playdate...

Can I tell you how much I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE these Winnie & Walter fonts! Had to sneak in a last minute entry for the first Winnie & Walter Playdate Challenge. This time I was inspired by the quilt, the checks, the colours and flowers from two of the quilt patches between the Mum and daughter, and the happy day. I created a hexagon quilt as the background for my card using papers from an old favourite Lily Bee paper pad, stamped with this gorgeous Winnie & Walter sentiment in Momento Ink Love Letters.

Playing along with Seize the Birthday too!

Happy Crafting & Hoppy Easter...

Just arrived back from one amazing long weekend spent in the company of ten fabulous fellow crafters! I have a sneaking suspicion there will be a few Lil Inkers and Mama Elephants orders soon LOL!

This card was inspired by CAS(E) This SketchScrapbook Boutique Easter Challenge, and CAS on Sunday Stitched Challenge, created using Lil Inkers Stitched Polaroid, combined with Mama Elephants Landscape Trio die-cuts and Honey Bunny stamps, together with this cute LaLa Land Flag Banner and papers from Lawn Fawn Hello Sunshine and Let's Polka.

FUSION & Fabulous...

By the time you are reading this I'll be away on a FABULOUS
crafty long weekend with some amazingly talented ladies!
I hope you manage to squeeze in some crafty time soon :)

Now back to your regular programming...

I'll be the first to admit that this fortnight's FUSION pushed me outside my comfort zone! Will you be inspired by the neutral tones, natural elements, theme or texture of this fortnights photo, or will you be inspired by this fabulous FUSION sketch - or BOTH?

This fortnight, I was inspired by the neutral colours and theme from the FUSION photo and the fabulous sketch. Digging deep in my stash I rediscovered this chipboard lady - complete with script on her skirt, and I built my card around that.  I thought she looked rather classy and fabulous, so paired her with this sentiment from Unity. Stamped this fabulous sentiment stamp multiple times in a brick pattern using Momento Ink Toffee Crunch to create the background. Overstamped in black to create the strip from the sketch. To reinforce the theme, cut the fabulous and sentiment panels with Lil Inkers Stitched Rectangles, double mounted the sentiment (instead of having a second panel on an angle) and adhered to a black cardstock base.

How to play:
1. Play with just the sketch challenge.
2. Play with just the inspiration photo challenge.
3. Or you can create FUSION by combining BOTH challenges into one card.
4. Use the challenge graphic and link back to Fusion in your post.
5. Please read the other considerations on the Rules Page before playing along.

Head over to the FUSION blog for some more spectacular
FUSION inspiration from the Design Team!

MUSE Guest Designer...

I have to admit I almost fell off my chair when Ardyth asked if I would like to be a Guest Designer for Muse - then I composed myself and sent off a YES PLEASE reply before she could change her mind!

I've been having so much fun with Distressed Inks lately, I thought I'd try and create a just before dawn night sky in Shabby Shutters, Squeezed Lemonade, Salty Ocean and Faded Jeans, using this fabulous silver birch mask, then adding a few stars with a Wink of Stella gold pen. Stamped this beautiful script sentiment from Avery Elle and heat embossed in gold on clear vellum, framed with Lil Inkers Stitched Square die-cut.

I hope you are inspired to play along with MUSE
I can't wait to see what you create!

Keep It Simple... & Delicious

Time to Keep It Simple and create something DELICIOUS (Food or Drink)!!
This fortnight mine is a Red Delicious ;)

Loved how Christine used the wood veneer raindrops as apple pips, and she kindly let me borrow her inspiration!  Stamped this gorgeous folksy Paper Smooches apple and paper pieced using a combination of patterned papers including Kaisercraft and Lily Bee Designs.  I LOVE this faux blanket stitching stamp from Paper Smooches, used to create my picnic blanket, paired with this super cute Paper Smooches sentiment and banner.

Can't wait to see your Keep It Simple Delicious (Food or Drink) creations by April 2nd!

Winnie & Walter & Watercolour...

E.T.A. Playing along with  Moxie Fab World Styling with Stencils Challenge too!

Playing with watercolurs reminds me of being part of a family - sometimes messy and unpredictable, but also a lot of fun!  Joining in the fun at Winnie & Walter Playdate #1Virginia's View Watercolour ChallengeSeize the Birthday and Catered Crop Spring Fever.  Used a Prima mask to create the outline for my poppies, then once dry, overstamped with Winnie & Walter sentiment - couldn't go past the "Happy" for this playdate inspiration photo!

Avery Elle - You are the icing...

Playing along with Avery Elle's Challenge #2 Embellishments and Avery Elle's May Guest Designer Search. Stamped and embossed this delicious Avery Elle Cupcake in gold, before adding white texture paste for the icing and digging deep into my embellishment stash for these gold beads to use as sprinkles and some gold ribbon to tuck behind the Avery Elle Pinked rectangle die cut panel.

I got my cupcake paper stripes on for
Keep It Simple Stripes Challenge (DT) and

created a FUSION (DT) of a monochrome palette and this versatile sketch.

Love you to the moon...

As much as I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE the stunning colours of this weeks card by Case Study Muse, Joni Nina Andaya, I thought I'd create a stellar sky with blues and yellows using Distress Inks in Faded Denim, Salty Ocean, Broken China and Squeezed Lemon, flicked with water. I double stamped this gorgeous Winnie & Walter sentiment in Versamark Watermark and Fine Gold embossing powder, once on the background panel, and once on the die cut circle to create the moon. The sentiment was created by using "the" from "mother's", and these gorgeous star sequins arrived as part of a much appreciated thank you for my order :)

P.S. If you are quick you can still enter into a huge give away of the Winnie & Walter second release!

A Lucky FUSION...

Can't wait to see how you will be inspired by FUSION this fortnight!

With St Patrick's Day soon, I thought it would be fun to create this Lucky Me card, inspired by the colours of this weeks FUSION inspiration photo, together with this fabulously versatile FUSION sketch.  Played with my gelatos and watercolours again, blending two shades of green for both the background and the paper piecing of this gorgeous little Paper Smooches frog. Added silver sparkles for his crown and stars, and finished with Lawn Fawn die cut letters and Paper Smooches sentiment.

Couldn't resist breaking out the watercolours to play along with Virginia's View Watercolour Challenge, The Pink Elephant Inspiration Challenge, and Paper Smooches Sparks Picture Perfect Inspiration - inspired by the green and touch of silver, love how that "me" stamp reminds me of the curly twine too!

Shades of CASual Watercolour...

The watercolour background was created using Faber-Castell Gelatos in Black and Silver, then once dry, flicked with Glimmermist Black Magic and Heidi Swapp Tinsel. The Memory Box Countryside die cut is highlighted with a yellow watercolour panel behind to create the lit window, and stamped with this cute Verve sentiment in Hero Arts Neon Sunshine and Soft Graphite. The watercolour background and sentiment panels were adhered together then die cut with Lil Inkers Stitched Rectangle.

Keep It Simple Stripes!

Time for another challenge at Keep it Simple! This fortnight we want to see stripes! What will you be inspired by Zebras? Jail? Vertical stripes or horizontal? Perhaps it's time to break out that washi tape!

The first thing I thought of for stripes... a zebra of course! I thought I'd create her a bit differently this time, using stripes of watercolours as the background, layered from yellow through orange and pink, I stamped the Paper Smooches zebra on the orange to pink section using Versamark ink and then embossed in black, and added the Paper Smooches sentiment in Versamark ink embossed in black too. Finished with an Avery Elle tag and Lil Inkers Stitctched Square.

We'd love you to join in - remember to Keep It Simple (CAS) and up to 4 other Challenges max!
Make sure you stop by the rest of the design team for some
more FABULOUS Keep It Simple inspiration!
